  1. On the right track with a 35 Whelen, but least not forget the 338-06.
  2. Well done, looks good.
  3. Check out AR15performance.com
  4. Last three barrels, I had the barrel threaded to time the brake and then blended to a taper to the barrel. You can hardly see the transition, it looks as if the brake is part of the barrel. Much cleaner look. Of course a bit more cost involved, but what is another bucket of water to a drowning man.
  5. It's all good.
  6. Mine did the same thing. Then I discovered the screw that went thru the butt pate was to long. I measured the length needed for the bcg to go back all the way then I shortened the screw, if I recall correctly it was 5/8". That may not be your problem but it was mine.

    Quickload

I know this is an old post without replies but what the hell...... Did you by chance follow up with Quickload? I am looking for something along this line myself. I believe it could save me a lot of money in load development with my SAAMI and wildcat cartridges. With so many rifles, bullets and powders, it would be nice to cut cost on load development and also learn a bit more.
  8. Also deltateamtactical.com They have a few misc. 308 parts. I think they have some free float hg, I always make sure I get a steel barrel nut, not the alum. that is just my preference.
  9. Sometimes It feels the past eight years have all been election years.
  10. Check out Primary Arms
  11. If that is the worst thing that happens today, we are in good shape.
  12. Mainly hunting but some range work. I have not thought much about reticles. Most my other scopes are Mil-dot, but you are right in regards to hunting. My eyes like the rest of me are getting old, so some magnification is in order
  13. I didn't think of the mil mil ffp. I have two of those on AR-15s. Here are some of my others,1 Bushnell 3200 6x24 , 2 sightron III 6x24's, 1 weaver super slam euro 4x20, 1 nikkon 223 600bdc. I am thinking less magnifaction with wider field of view on this build, but sometimes thinking is not my stronger suit. Thanks for the reply.
  14. Well I have started gathering parts, all that is left, the barrel and scope. So anybody have any experience with this Cal? Budget= 3-700.00, distance shooting 50-300 yards. Was thinking magnification range= 2-10 or 3-12
  15. The convo may have just began.
