Works EXTREMELY well......much better than the clamshell crap. Mine is a bit different that the one above. Mine has pin holes for the lower block. I have yet to ever use the pins.

I've yet to have any failures that I could blame on a buffer or spring. However, every .308 or 9mm I have built, or bought, always gets one of Slash's HeavyBuffers. Many invest in a better than stock trigger,.......why not a buffer? Only makes sense fellas!

Ok,.....back to the "AR10 likes/dislikes" I LOVE the magazines! The .308 variant PMags just feel cheap, not built like the Gen 1 or 2 Armalite mags.

You are correct,....you do not want/need a wet chamber. Keep in mind, if you "over lube" the bolt carrier group, the AR platform is "self cleaning" of the extra lube. You WILL be wearing that extra lube, shooting glasses are a good thing.

Welcome,........what is your budget? May be best to purchase an entire upper. Be damn careful and research, the "AR10" term gets misused greatly and can get you into an upper that is not comparable with your DPMS lower. As far as those who state DPMS is better than AR10.........it's a Ford vs Chevy deal. Personally, you could not GIVE me a Chevy or a DPMS, bad experiences with both brands.

It's an amazing shooter, right at .5 moa with 168gr Federal Gold Match. Just looking to break even on this. Mainly just killin paper, had it out on one hunt. Never had anything worthy of a shot. A few small does and two spikes. Looking at having a rifle built by GAP, need to move this first.
