  1. When I was working on a drilling rig. There was a story about three 4 inch steel drill poppet balls a engineer left on a rig. A new roughneck tore up two of them, dropped one in the rathole and had one in his lunch pail to take home.
  2. At Halliburton OSHA regs required anyone working around electrical in any way must wear a plastic hard hat, actually it was a political thang . MSA had sold Bazillion of Aluminum hard hats and they lasted forever often a lifetime. Their plastic models were trash and cost more than aluminum. Back in 1957 Halliburton Field Supervisors and Engineers were issued new MSA aluminum caps no brims, just a bill like a ballcap. Only sold to Halliburton, If a Field Supervisor laid his aluminum hard-cap down or left it in his unlocked car some roughneck would steal it BTW I still have mine after 52 years. But I have trashed several plastic ones.
  3. Yep, we kinda do tend to help you trade those old dirty green pictures of dead presidents into some more useful stuff, you are welcome!
  4. I am going to put on my old McDonalds aluminum safety hat, after I MIG weld up the hole in it's top.

  8. We also have no state income tax good housing at a must lower cost in rural areas, but the big oil and gas drilling areas are not cheap. Lower prices mean lower taxes.
  9. What kind of a job do you want? Oil & gas companies are hiring in Texas. sign on bonuses are plentiful. We have a lot of Tractor Supply stores......
  10. That was how my dad handled me damaging too many rabbits and squirrels with my sling shot, he started making me just throw rocks left handed when I was hunting and always letting them get 100 yards away before throwing ....., so I then started bow hunting deer.
  11. The new Lexington was commissioned in late 1943 and was a major factor in the Pacific . It is anchored in Corpus Christi and is a museum. I visited it several times when I audited Halliburton assets in the area in the 1990s.
  12. Home made claymores mounted on pop-up sprinklers and bouncing bettys buryed in PVC pipe wired to a selection board make for shutting down the zombie hordes. Or you could play some bluegrass over loud speakers and scare them zombies away.
  13. I am slowly doing better. Luckily we have a new range that has opened 20 miles from me.
  14. This ammo shoots well in my M1a.
  15. .....and taking a leak? oops the PC Police caught the POOP!

  17. Please remember that on gun forums (reading) that a huge percentage of folks post on these forums problems and hope to get fixes. Some, maybe most. new gun buyers take the gun home clean and oil it,like old Dad told them load it up, and start shooting it and you never"read" about these good cases, Be careful about having problems that actually NEVER happen.
  18. I hate to say it Suzuzkieray but I was taught to wipe my a$$ when I was potty trained and have done it successfully for nearly 80 years, without leaving nicotine marks on my skievies and without seeing or sniffing the used TP or the corncob It may just be a "man thang"..
  19. Have you followed the DPMS break-in instructions and really lubed the bolt and BCG? Did you have problems after break-in (100 rounds) of factory ammo?
