Morgan, sorry didn't see your post until just now. I don't have a pic handy but I just weave the cable through all four "locking points" and then secure the two cable loop ends with the lock closing inside the pre-molded lock points.
Is that really necessary with a Pelican case? Short answer is no but the cable works especially well with the lesser gun cases that have more "locking points ". I'll give you an example: the KAC SR-15 I purchased came in a regular hard side gun case, not as secure as the Pelican, Stormcase, and the like, so the cable was especially nice for my piece of mind.
I will grant you that locks only keep honest people honest and that dirtbags will more than likely steal the entire case rather than break the locking points and attempt to hide the weapon in another manner until they can get it off the premises.
