  1. Must be REALLY LONELY out there in the desert <lmao>
  2. Yah know...since they ARE marked 338...that would make a really nice Hog thumper in that caliber...just saying ;)
  3. Silly rabbits...dix are for chics <laughs>
  4. Pretty good price on those. Nice to have a couple "spare lowers" on hand for when the mood strikes you...
  5. http://www.alliantpowder.com/getting_started/safety/storage_handling.aspx Also, there is this: Build a box of 1" wood. Cover it with 5/8" sheetrock. Make a cover of, from inside out, 3/4" wood, 1/4" plywood, topped by 5/8" sheetrock. The lid/door should seal but not be so snug that it won't open easily. If the gunpowder does ignite, it will pop the lid off and allow the remaining powder to burn rather than explode.
  6. Got the upper yesterday. Now just need to get the buffer assembly and we're ready to roll. It seems like most 308 buffer assemblies come with a carbine buffer. What's the deal with that? I'm going to use an A2 stock in conjunction with the rifle buffer. I guess that's just not the popular "tacti-cool" thing to do these days. Meh, never did follow the masses anyway. Have a great weekend everyone.
  7. Have had a will since I was 19 and reviewed/updated it as needed...usually just before deployment. Also have a living will with clear instructions: vegetable = pull the plug! I agree: make sure you have the proper paperwork in order because you never know when it's your turn!
  8. Well...let's hope they all learned a lesson...I hate to be a cynic but I'm guessing that won't be the case. Looked like a WHOLE LOT OF STUPID going on in that house.
  9. Why does it seem to me that the boys down in AZ seem to have more fun (read antics) than the rest of us. I'm a bit distraught about it. I want to participate in shenanigans!!!
  10. ^^^ Paso...I was actually referring to the Faxon barrel. I've already got my BCG. Either way...I still look forward to the range review with pics.
  11. I'm on the notification list for when those come back into stock. I'd like to see how that bad boy shoots. So when you get your completed system to the range I'd love to hear the range report.
  12. Nicely played sir!!! :hethan:
  13. Welcome to the forum from Washington.
  14. Damn...glad I haven't purchased any of that ammo. I had considered a purchase with them but always seemed to just hesitate.
  15. Think I'm gonna "hold squat" (Army reference that "legs" won't understand) on the third lower for now. I really want one of those SA SOCOM 16 M1As.
  16. Right on man! Congratulations!
  17. <laughs> how do you really feel? If it helps restore my man card I am looking at these in the next couple years: https://youtu.be/_BZOcxQQC2M
  18. Lol...it's a relative term...and no I don't use it with my relatives <laughs>
  19. With all the money I have recently "invested" with 40 pounds of powder, 1000 rounds of 168gr OTM cartridges, AP 20 inch assembled upper...Yada yada...yes there is more to list... I'm kinda easing back a bit. You know...pumping my brakes. It's on my "to purchase" shortlist for this year though.
  20. It really was...except now I want a flippin SA M1A SOCOM! BADLY!!!
  21. Well then it looks like I'll get my first set of those pins when the MechArmor Defense trigger arrives. I'll then place those pins in my spare parts tool kit.
  22. I've been out to Rimrock to hunt elk outta Winston-Salem area but don't have my Jeep any longer. Sold it just before I left Bragg. Traded it in on a...wait for it...don't bust my balls to badly...Volvo XC90. I miss the Jeep and I suspect that at some point I'll get another but not in the next year or two.
  23. Nice!!! I took mine out to Colorado for a Jeep jamboree. Got a trail map out of Leadville and the next thing going you know we were doing poop that even for.my crazy ass was a little hairy! Good times!!!
  24. Me too. Gonna throw it into a Novesky build I'm doing.
  25. Right on...the guy that hadn't shot a rifle for 20 years had just purchased an AR 15 and admitted that he had it for over 5 or 6 months but hadn't shot it. He kinda came clean if you will because he had previously told me that he had shot it. I just laughed & said we'll set something up for this weekend and get that bad boy broken in. Got the guys rounded up and headed out this morning. Like I said we all had a good time. I enjoy teaching/re-teaching people how to shoot and seeing all the fun they are having. We plan on doing it again very soon.
