By the way ... I just ordered 2 of the 80% lowers in the white from American Made Tactical. I have a jig set already but I think I may splurge and get the jig set that Brownells offers. I like the top plate of the template set better.
Thanks for the encouragement.

Just be careful that the jig works with the lowers you ordered. What I have found in doing a number of these is that most jigs do NOT work with lowers from other suppliers. In some cases I have had to simply scribe the outline of what I wanted to mill and do everything by eye, which isn't too difficult to do with a mill but may be far more of a problem is you are using a drill press. To test, put it in the jig and see if it closes. If so, scribe the openings and take it out and measure to see if it is centered. If it is you are good to go.
Also, if you are going to use a drop in trigger you may find that you need to make the fire control well just a little wider than most jigs will allow. The standard two piece triggers seem to fit fine but both the Mech Armor and a Rise drop in required a slightly wider pocket.

Howdy JT,
I wanted to ask what are you using for a tool to hone the inside of the scope rings on a mount?
I've looked up Flex Hones but also thought about brake cylinder hones too. Do you use anything that abrasive? What abrasive do you recommend? Seems with the Flex Hones 600 & 800 grit are both available with the aluminum oxide hones.
I've never honed one but have thought about it before so I thought I would ask.
THANKS !!!
Glenn
