  1. I think we may be overlooking one important choice here. As far as "I" am concerned, I build the very best 308 caliber AR style rifle on the planet. I will maintain that belief at least until I actually get to shoot it. Then maybe not so much. Not long now. Took a part time job (yeah, I know) in a gun store to finish mine quicker. Gun store with no AR 308 style parts. None!!!!!

    CMC Triggers

CMC triggers is made right here in Fort Worth. I managed to get one of the single stage, straight triggers from them and I have to say. I am happy. Pretty sure they have a web site.
  3. I'm a photographer now. (ever since I got my first dollar for taking pictures) and can do a bit in Photoshop if you still need some done. Most it would cost you would be a sling. I do not want to step on anyone's toes here so if the process is working leave me out. (I just need a sling...wahhhhh)
  4. Man Chris! I just bought a set and completion kit from you. I need to save my pennies to deplete your inventory a bit more. There are times I wish I were rich instead of...uh..well..... Anyway Chris, I have not been on this board long but they sure made ME proud the way they gave bs to bs and then showed him the door. Just keep doing what your are doing and we will all have you as a "go to" supplier. Might see you one day if I ever get down to see my daughter.
  5. Think they put the wrong spring in your kit. DPMS calls for 11.5" spring. My wire diameter measures .072" which is a tad small or the measuring device made a booboo. Sounds like the spring you have now is the one that should have come in the kit. Send it (the spring not the kit) back to whomever you bought it from. Explain in gentle kind terms how much their brief hiccup in an otherwise stellar performance cost you some money and a good bit of consternation. If that don't work, tell em you are sending 98...............
  6. Texas huh? Know someone that lives there..........
  7. Calling all motorcycles Hondas has been know to light a fuse.....or two.......
  8. But that gun is not going at 6000 rpm, give or take a K. Of the people that build electric motors for model airplanes, about half recommend ATF. Those puppies take some abuse. I don't really think there is much in this world that gets the opportunity to wear like my Brides Fiat automatic tranny. It uses MOPAR AW1. I use it for a lot of stuff. Guns being one. No failures yet which to me is the bottom line.
  9. What other calibers work well with the Matrix upper/lower combo? Not that I will ever build a second rifle.........
  10. My Matrix Lower has both. Use both or pick one. Pictures eventually.
  11. Have not receive the LPK yet. I just ordered it on 6/17/2015, last Wednesday. I will post pictures.
  12. I clicked it. I learned. More about this lower later when I have fully and totally smoked it over. Still finding stuff.
  13. Thanks Dews. One more thing. I have a takedown pin detent hole from the grip and from the rear. I either get to use both or likely get to pick. Depending on what comes in my LPK, I think I'll pick the rear. Time will tell.
  14. Ok. Pictures. Maybe..... Yep. Thanks to survivalshop. A true gentleman. Update. This captive detent is centered on the rear take down pin upper flange or whatever you call the thing with the hole in it and be nice for goodness sake. We are out of our teens....yes? ???
  15. Received my Matrix upper/lower combo from Chris Riedeman today. Found some surprises. Possibly not for you. 1. Under the rear take down pin is what appears to be a captive detent. 2. The two holes under where the grip goes are not the same size. At least not at the surface. .Appears to be about 1/8th" and then steps down. 3. If someone will tell me how, I will ad pictures.
