    Grilling

The wife (God I love her) came home with 15 lbs of boneless pork shoulder and told me to get to work. Pulled pork for my daughters birthday party! Turned out really great, super juicy with a great bark. Used the Pecan wood I bring up from Texas, mixed in with some hickory as well. 11 hours of smoking, and when I tried to lift it out of the pan it just fell apart Lol. Smoked about 225 for 5 hours of heavy smoke, then covered it partially and smoked for another 6 hours. Rubbed in Grub Rub, a Texas treat of mine.

  7. Holding up and keeping zero really well! The only thing i really dont like is if you have gloves on that fast fire (the red dot) is impossible to turn on. Fat fingers, tiny slightly recessed button. Cant have it all i guess, but even with gloves and huge hands the illumination on the tac30 is very easy to switch on so thats good
  8. Unbelievable! It handles very natural and fast, and at 100 yards on the bench I went 3/4" on a 3 shot pattern, with factory ammo. The burris combo is a winner, as is RRA!

    Hi everyone

    Welcome from SE WI
  11. The TAC 30 was the right mix of desirable range, price point, natural feel, and I really love the reticle and illumination. I went to Cabelas and probably pissed them off hahaha. I spent several hours looking at a variety of optics, and i think thats a great way to go. You can feel weight, check out eye relief, get a good feel for it, see the speed or lack of, and compare reticles. Worth a few hours to get an optic you will love IMO. I am happy and comfortable with the 1-4x mag, but most people would want more and that is understandable and valid. Good luck with them hogs, they are tasty! I lived in OK for 3 years. I miss my meers burgers and the booze/blues at the biting sow in OKcity. And catfish!
  12. Really? thats interesting. I need to check if my PEPR is QD or not, I dont think it is, in fact im fairly sure it isnt. But if it is I will watch for that thank you.

  14. This is my rig. I have a burris fullfield 2 TAC 30 with a burris fastfire red dot on top. The mount my set came with is the Burris P.E.P.R. mount. (proper eye position ready) This is a mount they designed for AR platform rifles and is beyond solid, with 6 screws per integrated ring. It brings the optic up off of the rifle real nice, for fast target acquisition. The optic itself has a sick bold black and illuminated circle reticle with .308 ballistic dots to 600 yards. It is a very fast slick hunting scope for short to mid range (1-600 yards) 1-4x magnification. If you are in the market check it out, it didnt disappoint as I took the biggest buck ive ever seen in my life the first day out with it.
  15. I'll bet! I'm sitting under my buck right now hahaha
  16. Good God the rack on that beast!

nice catch! I have had big browns smoked as well. A bud of mine fishes out of port washington a lot and smoked brown is amazing, seems much milder and easier to eat a ton of than salmon. Then again he gave it to me while i was icefishing and I was working hard on a good buzz hahaha munchies get ya
