  1. You just have to make sure the barrel is compatible with the DPMS pattern. Armalite and DPMS don't usually mix.
  2. You'll have to remove the muzzle device (if it has one), remove handguard, remove gas block, remove barrel nut, and remove barrel. Install new barrel in reverse order. There are tools you'll need to make this all easier. Upper vice block and barrel nut wrench are the main ones. 308 and 243 share the same parent case so you can re-use your BCG and magazine. If you've never done any AR based mechanical work, there is plenty videos on the webernet. Let us know how it goes. For me, I get more pleasure from building them than shooting them. You might find it more rewarding to start from scratch. Aero Precision M5 upper/lower and go from there. Nothing wrong with DPMS, but it's something to consider. And welcome from Cajun country!
  3. I went with the Rec Tec Stampede last year. I love it. Perfect for my family. The only downside is, I can no longer order a steak at a restaurant. Nothing comes close to a reverse seared ribeye, cooked at home.
  4. St Louis ribs fer lunch today! 3-2-1 method o'course. Smoked mac-n-cheese to follow. Got em wrapped up right now for the "2" with butter, brown sugar, and honey to keep em company. I sure as hell don't miss getting up every 30 minutes to check on the smoke/fire. If you like smoked meat and don't own a pellet smoker, you just don't love yourself.
  5. UF, that is impressive! I would post my collection but, they all fell in the bayou.? Here's a pic of my ex holding one before they fell in.
  6. Looking like parts won't be available now till May.
  7. I never leave the house without my.......
  8. Nice!
  9. I'm sure we could work somethin out.
  10. This is gettin good....
  11. 35 Remmy. 45 grains of LVR under some 180 grain speer Hot-cors. Great combo.
  12. I want a job like Jerry.
  13. Few sights can rival that of a tool box top, covered with new gun parts. Get er done.
  14. I went with the C-products 10 round. I used them in the past for my 6.8 and they ran flawlessly, without modifications. I recently purchased an ACS for my 308 and IMO it makes a fantastic paperweight. Not much good for anything else. I had to trim it heavily to make it serviceable.
  15. I built an X39 upper for my buddy and we went shoot last weekend. I lapped the upper for sh!ts and giggles. I was impressed with its accuracy. Shot the hornady black. Nice weapon. Didn't take any group pics but they were all in a quarter at 50. That some impressed electronic skills you got man. Not something everyone can do.
  16. @shepp Tri-tip is next on my list. Can't seem to find it any where though. I'm also due for a good beef tongue brown gravy. Most tender cut on a cow.
  17. $485ish. It ain't cheap or practical, but for some reason I gotta have one. My first rifle was a 35 Remington and I love the AR platform. This would be the love child of the 2. Smoke em if you got em!
  18. Step right up folks. Should have have kits at the end of March to mid April. I'll just leave this here:
  19. You guys can fuq up a wet dream
  20. I thought about that before posting. I noticed the sagging skin on the forearm, she's legal.
  21. This is getting out of hand (I'd eat both)
  22. Love me some Optics Planet. Every time I've had an issue, which is mostly my fault, they've set it strait. Usually the best prices as well.
  23. Thanks @sketch . That seems like the route I'll take. I was concerned about walnut being stuck in the case. Seems like it would be a pain separating it.
  24. Another win for the Rec Tec! I took the trimmings, boiled em down and threw the au jus in the smoke with the rib roast. Damn that was GOOD! Can't be legal.
