  1. Just ordered a LaRue 2 stage trigger with curved bow. I always have to do things more than once to get them wright. Been married more than once. This time has lasted for over 45 years. I think I got that wright this time. 😊😊😊 Steve
  2. OK, you convinced me. I just ordered the LaRue 2 stage trigger.
  3. I have 2 ASC 20 round mags. Have not shot much ammo yet but they seem to work OK. I like them because the are slimmer on the outside than the P-mags mags . I can use them with my cheap Bi-pod on the bench. The P-mags are to long. If I have to tweak the ones I just ordered I will just have to learn how. I can have 5 mags instead of one. OK I'm cheap at times. Some times it does cost me money to try to just get by. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Steve
  4. GO TO ARMALITE.COM Contact number 623-780-1050. CALL THEM. I had an AR shop change the but stock on my DPMS LR-308. Then found this site. I checked the spring and buffer. They were AR-15. It will NOT work with the bigger cals. I checked Armalite web site and the extension kits were out of stock. I called and told them my problem. The man I talked to said that he would dig around and put a kit together for me. I think it shipped the next day. THAT IS customer service. I didn't even go back to the shop that did the work. They went out of business a few weeks later. I am still learning to pay attention to the people here. I bought a RRA trigger before getting info. here. Will most likely return the trigger and buy a Larue 2 stage. JMHO πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯ΊπŸ₯Ί Steve
  5. I read several of the threads. Learned a lot. Much more to learn. Seems that FCG are a lot like stock extensions, recoil springs, and buffers. A lot of things can cause trouble. Not the least of which is QC and design flaws. A lot of the post I read showed people not knowing that a change of one part can cause trouble with another ( i.e. grip screw to long can touch FCG from the bottom causing a failure). Newby's first try at a 80% lower may cause trouble with safety. Also, not knowing how the parts inter act and blame one thing for trouble when it could not cause the trouble. SO MUCH TO LEARN SO LITTLE TIME. Looks like RRA may have some QC or design trouble. Also saw people not having trouble after thousands of rounds. My parts have shipped from Primary Arms this morning so I may have to just return the trigger. I hate to do this when it was my bad for being in a hurry and not waiting to hear back from the guys here. I will look at the Larue site and decide what I will do. Thanks for all of your help. πŸ˜•πŸ˜•πŸ˜• Steve
  6. Ordered from Primary Arms in Houston. Five ASC 20 round stainless steel mags that fit the DPMS LR-308 (13.99 ea.) AND a Rock River Arms 2 stage trigger($99.99). It will have about 4.5 to5 lbs. of pull. He said he uses them in one of his rifles. I think I should wait a month or two before I buy anything else for my rifle. My wife is starting to give me one of those looks when she hears me on the phone ordering gun stuff. πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„ teve
  7. Called Primary Arms and spoke to Steve. He recommended the Rock River Arms 2 stage for $99.00. They also have ACS metal 20 round mags for &13.99 on sale.
  8. Primary Arms has the Rise 140 trigger on sale. Curved bow and anti-walk pins. $99.00 + tax and shipping. Would this be a good trigger for a LR-308? Don't know if I would like a 2 stage trigger. This one is single stage.πŸ˜•πŸ˜•πŸ˜• Steve
  9. Boy If I could type faster I would have tried to say the same thing. China English and US English are two different things. They don't always come out the way we understand things. Steve
  10. This thing looks like new. the rifle I removed it from was a low serial number DPMS and it looked like it had very few rounds through it. It was dirtier after 35 rounds of Armsco 147 gr. that I fired than when I got the rifle. If you want a like new EOTec PM me an offer. I don't have a use for it. I saw some on the internet that looked like the were used for hammers and they were selling for $498. the site said they had sold several at that price. Steve
  11. I will have to get some new sheets. Mine are all dried out. Used them when I was loading Black Powder rounds. Thanks Steve
  12. I have a Lee red powder funnel and am having trouble with Fine powders sticking to the inside of the funnel. It looks like maybe 15 to 20 flakes of powder try to stick to the funnel about half way down the funnel. Larger granules of powder seem to stick less. I think it is static. I have tried to clean the funnel with solvent but did not help. Any ideas? Steve
  13. Went to Dallas middle of last month. Just east of Clyde on I-20 there were wind turbines to the north and east as far as you could see. Had a 5 to 10 MPH wind blowing, temp in upper 90's. Not a blade in sight was turning. I know everybody in the area must have had there A/C running. Where was all of that power when we needed it in February. Something stinks and it's not cow farts. 😑😑😑 Steve
  14. For sale EOTech 553. Has NV button. Quick disconnect mount. New Energizer 123 batteries. It was on the DPMS LR-308 I bought. Looks as new. seen several on Gunbroker selling for high price. Just does not work for me. I just bought a scope for the rifle. I am asking $ 675 Shipped with no insurance. Money order only. No Pay Pal or anything. I have quit using my PayPal because of there customer service. Photos from my I Phone 6 I am not a very good at taking pictures. Steve
  15. I took rat poison ( Warfarin ) for about five years. That was before my Heart Transplant. Lots of side effects. I am glad they have the new blood thinners now. Just would like the Affordable Care Act to be more affordable. Swelling is down and pain is about gone. She is starting to get up and move around some now. The man up there is always looking out for me and my family. πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚ Steve
  16. Received my Athlon scope today. I just ordered a Athlon 30mm 20 MOA mount. It will be here late next week. Now to get back to reloading some ammo . Have 500 Lake City brass cleaned, sized, trimmed, and about half of them primed. Just need to load a few to try out. Will be FMJ 150gr. and maybe some 150 gr Nosler Ballistic tip. The Nosler's shoot better than I do at 200 yards from a Remington 700 heavy barrel. 😁😁😁
  17. Just took my wife to the doctor this afternoon. After X-rays and test, She has a blood clot at the back of her right knee. Lucky we caught it when we did. Some HIGH DOLLAR blood thinner for a couple of weeks and she should be OK. May wait a few weeks to get the mount. The meds cost almost as much as the scope even with insurance. That is AFORDABLE HEALTH CARE.. Just thankful that we have the money to pay for it. Some people don't. It all works out in the end. She is worth every penny. 😊😊😊 Steve
  18. Yesterday I ordered a Athlon Midas Gen 2 HD 4.5-27x50 scope. I sold a couple of guns Sat. at a gun show so I could get a scope for my LR-308. Now I have to figure out how to break it to my wife that almost half of that money is gone. The other half will go to pay med insurance for the rest of the year. When I retired I had good med coverage from the company I retired from. With the Affordable Care act they converted to a medical expense account. They have reduced the amount they put in and the cost keep going up each year. ##**++%%##. Steve
  19. There must have been a price increase. LaRue site list LT-158 at $258 for both type of mount, I might have spent $160 but wright now I would have to find a new home if I spent $260 on a scope mount. If you can give me a link to the lower price I might just PULL THE TRIGER on one, Thanks for the replies. Steve
  20. I just ordered a Athlon Midas Gen 2 HD 4.5-27x50 mm. What mount should I use on a DPMS LR 308? It is a 30mm tube, Should I get 0 MOA or a 20 MOA? I would like to stay under $100. One piece cantilever mount. Should I try to lap a one piece mount? How high should it be? The more I type the more questions I have. Sorry. I have put scopes on bolt guns but these AR rifles are a little different. Thanks πŸ™„πŸ™„ Steve P.S. Should I get a sun shade for it?
  21. Soon to be 74. It gets harder to take off and easier to put on as you get older. Also, I weigh the same as I did when I got married to my wife 45 years ago, but it isn't in the same places now. πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„ Steve
  22. I think that is covered in the infrastructure bill. 😑😑😑 Steve
  23. I got to see an A-10 play with a Big tank at the old air base in Austin, TX back in about 85 or 86. It was impressive how quick that A-10 could turn and be back on target. I asked the pilot if the 30mm would go through Russian tank armor. He said no. He said 2 passes with his cannon and there would be a large pile of ragged chunks of steel. I asked " you said it would not go through the armor?" He said " If you hit an anvil enough times with a hammer you will break it up into small pieces ". 😁😁😁 Steve
  24. does this fit the DPMS LR-308 trigger and hammer pins? The add says small pins. 😁😁😁 Steve
  25. Several POTUS back. I used to buy Blazer alum case for $88.00 and change out the door for 1000 rounds. I MISS those days. ☹️☹️☹️ Steve
