  6. Would you mind registering and posting this at my .22 forum?
  7. I think some of us are annoyed at DPMS playing games with dimensions. The DPMS FFHG will only provide proper rail height with very current DPMS rifles. Many guys building their own are skipping DPMS to have more options
  8. good luck to you both man
  9. Theres a thread somewhere on the forum that shows you how to verify the picatinny height. Probably need to look that up before you proceed. If your is current production the choices will be limited if rail alignment matters to you. DPMS, Troy and the new Samsons will be out in a few weeks
  10. Depends who you talk too http://308ar.com/forum/index.php/topic,401.0.html
  11. BTW this parts insanity is one of the primary reasons I created this site and forum
  12. PRI is a solid company. I havent seen this unit in person. I normally dont let appearance affect a decision but Im not a fan of the carbon fiber look, but thats just me. You can get a similar arrangement with a JP/VTAC for less money. Also keep in mind what I said in the other thread about DPMS changing the rail height. Theres a few manufacturers who have just released or are about to release FFHG of the correct height but most will be off. How old is your DPMS?
  13. ok keep in mind the Fulton Armory needs a special wrench which they don't sell. You need to buy a spanner wrench and modify it. We have a thread someplace on it here. Also go to the bottom of the home page for info http://308ar.com/
  14. My 92 Colt Sporter shows no signs of movement or wear after god only knows how many rounds. FA and frequent pin removal will loosen the holes
  15. Correct terminology may be causing you trouble. Your referring to the AR-10 in the DPMS LR-308 section. Only the Armalite is an AR-10. The DPMS LR-308 while similar looking is a different weapon. Which are you asking about? Im not well versed on the AR-10 gas system but and non SASS DPMS can use any milspec gas block providing you choose the block with a bore to match your barrel. There is another wrinkle with DPMS. The current upper receivers have a picatinny that's higher above the bore than similar weapons. A front sight mounted on a non DPMS railed gas block might not have sufficient elevation adjustment. Disclaimer: Im posting through severe allergies and mental fog
  16. I went on a trip once got to the destination only to find I forgot the key to the trigger locks
  17. The A-TACS weapons and gear is done by this company http://twnindustries.com/Home.html
  18. The Magpuls are new but stock replenishes pretty quick at the usual sources
  19. What edgecrusher said I too like the : Gen II Magpuls Troys with or without Tritium and all toss these in too GG&G Daniel Defense YHM
  20. you are correct it is scattered but I suffer from organizational paralysis. Im pretty sure I saw Tom volunteer to clean this up <lmao> You saw him raise his hand right? ;D
  21. I have no idea on the SI but I would be surprised if it exhibited the same issue as the DPMS. While most here agree DPMS is headed in a proprietary direction I actually like the concept of the heavier, larger OD DPMS SASS barrel
  22. DPMS SASS The major barrel diameter is substantially larger then a typical barrel. When the milspec block is installed the barrel blocks a portion of the gas tube hole in the gas block.
  23. You guys are funny. 6132expert I enjoy your passion. This isn't a dictatorship, the other admins have the keys to make changes as they see fit. Have at it Tom, give the people what they want <thumbsup>
  24. Sorry man It cant fit without modifying the barrel diameter. The JP is based on Milspec AR-15 dimensions. The SASS is a different beast. I believe DPMS recently introduced a low cost SASS GB. None of them are as slick as the JP though
  25. welcome fuzzy <thumbsup>
