  1. So I needed a new notebook computer with enough power to work with my Nikon D800. My 8 year old Dell just could not do it. A buddy at CDW found me a great deal on an HP mobile workstation. It has all the right stuff...almost. I dont have it in hand yet and I already ordered a Samsung 840 SSD to replace the factory drive <lmao>
  2. on the right side of the forum below the ads I have links to some of the tools. I would also be willing to loan you mine.

  5. I have a 2002 Gary Fisher Sugar. It's full suspension, a lot of carbon fiber, XTR in all the important areas, Hayed hydraulic disk brakes. Basically an $1800 bike with the same $$$ in upgrades in 2004. So have the bikes improved enough to justify an upgrade? 29'ers? 650b's? Im afraid to try one
  6. and some heat
  7. We just came back from dinner and a dog walk. Everywhere you go folks are in tears. Here in CT we are no stranger to these acts of brutality and I certainly never thought we would see a horrific event that could be worse than the Cheshire home invasion a few years back but this...how someone can harm these babies, peoples most prized possessions is beyond comprehension. We keep watching the news and saying "This cant be real, it must be a mistake" Sandy Hook is a charming little town, one of the places we discussed looking for a house. NEVER EVER could you imagine this happening there...
  8. Thats real close by. The news just keeps getting worse
  9. Anybody can catch big fish. The real challenge is catching fish as close to possible to the size of the lure being used.
  10. Ha!!! <laughs>
  11. Im not married but my attorney says you should have non spouses as the first few trustees. This way the collection is protected should a marriage dissolve. I have three good friends as trustees. Everything is spelled out to the letter of how things are handled with regards to the legalities of the trustees. This is really a conversation for your attorney as everyone has different circumstances.
  12. Here in CT we catch bait for the fish you guys are posting

  18. Military Times almost always has the scoop before everyone else.
  19. Well just back from the show. Holy cow these old guys still rock. Easily the best concert i have been to. The show would appeal to a die hard fan more than a casual listener as they play the entire Qudrophenia from start to finish without interuption. During two tunes the played a tribute to Entwhistle and Moon using the music and footage to their respective solo's. it was moving. Once they were done with Quadrophenia they moved on to the classic hits. Quadrophenia was awesome, so many great tunes but when they played 5:15 I thought the house was going to come down. That energy remained for rest of the show. I cant tell you how many times I had goose bumps at the intro's to songs. Anyhow despite being 67 and 68 years old these guys still rock. Daltrey pulls it off pretty good all things considered. Townshend has his parts as well as seems to pick up some of the Daltrey territory to give his voice a break. The guys never took a break and played for 2 1/4 hours. We were seated pretty high up but almost directly to the side of Townshend. Probably 100 feet or 20 from the stage. Quadrophenia I Am the Sea The Real Me Quadrophenia Cut My Hair The Punk and the Godfather I'm One The Dirty Jobs Helpless Dancer Is It in My Head? I've Had Enough 5:15 Sea and Sand Drowned Bell Boy Doctor Jimmy The Rock Love, Reign O'er Me (followed by band introductions) Encore: Who Are You Behind Blue Eyes Pinball Wizard Baba O'Riley Won't Get Fooled Again Tea and Theatre
  20. maybe this http://militarytimes.com/blogs/gearscout/2012/12/09/hst-bcm-the-jack/
  21. It's 2008 all over again. Manufacturers were better prepared this time but we are still seeing shortages of key parts across the board. Complete rifles are going to get the parts first. Unfortunately it makes the best business sense. This isnt just Armalite either. Back in 2008 I canceled a barrel order with DPMS at the one year mark. I think unless Armalite decides to specifically put some parts aside for parts orders your wait is still early on.
  22. http://www.guns.com/hardford-ct-officer-cavanna-rescues-stg-44-from-gun-buyback-11580.html Hartford, CT officer John Cavanna made himself a hero of the gun world last weekend, as he rescued a piece of history from a gun buyback program shredder, by refusing to accept an StG 44 brought in by the daughter of a World War II artilleryman. The StG 44 is an early assault rifle, the first to see major military adoption, and the reason why every current military in the world issues assault rifles to this day. It changed the way war was fought, and changed the world of small arms. It represents a turning point in history, and continues to make it, in small ways like this. "Usually, this rifle would be issued to SS troops," said Cavanna. "In excellent condition, this gun is rated at $30,000 to $40,000." The StG 44 was a war trophy belonging to the woman's father. "You could kill a solider back then, and if the captain of your fighting unit signed off on it, you could send that gun home to your family or kid brother or cousin. Anything you wanted. Her father, who was a World War II army man, had brought this gun home from the European theater," Cavanna said. Cavanna is not just a peace officer but also a gun historian, and we thank him from rescuing this artifact and elevating himself above the buyback fray. The owner will be allowed to keep the rifle and sell it to a museum. "The chance to see a piece of history—this…is absolutely unbelievable," said Officer Lewis Crabtree of the Hartford Police Dept. "This is a gun that should actually be in a museum rather than in a shredder." Gun buybacks are already hugely controversial. At best they disarm the poor, at worst they are used to destroy evidence and artifacts like these. For every gun buyback that's exploited as a children's fundraiser, there are dozens that raise all sorts of red flags like this recent buyback in Massachusetts that exchanged guns for flu shots. But it's nice to see that there are sometimes silver linings to these largely ineffective and counter-productive programs. And we hope that other officers follow his lead. We've all heard stories of amazing, often singular firearms going to the big armory in the sky because they were found by people who didn't know better and they turned them into gun buyback programs. The world needs more John Cavannas. Keep up the good work, and as gun lovers, we're all in your debt.
  23. Well the follower actuates the latch for the bolt lock. You can test it with an empty mag. My concern is the IRA portion of the equation. We have a few threads with IRA issues.
  24. Is this a new build? Will it lock and feed when you cycle manually? Do you have a friends that you can do a upper lower swap with?
