I have not seen it recorded buy saw it live as it was a local event. He was a very strange dude..I mean really strange. The questions from the media were beyond ridiculous and insensitive. I have no idea what a 5.56 round does to a small body body but the ME stated that the bullets stayed in the body as they were designed to do. I dunno I figured a 5.56 at close range with ball ammo would over penetrate a little in many cases. I think the .308 will suit your needs fine. Does everything you need with plentiful, reasonably inexpensive ammunition. I don't think you need an additional upper in .243. jmho Heck The cost of the 243 upper and a little bit more $$$ can buy you a complete 5.56 AR-15
