I think they launched the site to meet a deadline rather than when it was ready. When they launched the last site it was not great at first then they tweaked things for the better over time. They will fix it. Support for XP's browser is disappearing fast across the web. Regarding pricing. Brownells is usually more expensive but they support many things other companies like Midway refuse to do. 308AR.com is a perfect example and why I operate this site without any sort of paid memberships.

A Small favor - Review your BAD A.S.S at Brownells
imschur replied to imschur's topic in Battle Arms Development - Terminated
Even if you cant clear it up I think a lot of folks would discount a single bad review. I know I would. Perhaps another member here who has not reviewed it yet can counter it. I agree with Tom whole heartedly verified reviewers should be able to comment on other comments. Maybe the new site will offer such functionality. If not I think it's a valid suggestion to mention to Brownells. Maybe that just have not thought of it. It would be in their best interest. -

Well i had to euthanize another one of my cats today. 3rd in 5 months to go down with cancer. I took the day off to do the deed. Afterwards to get out of my funk I went bike shopping. Ended up with a bike not on my list, funny how that works. Hit the credit card pretty hard but the 2012's are on sale because the 2013's are coming in. I ended up with a Cannondale Synapse Carbon 105 http://www.cannondale.com/2013/bikes/road/performance-road/synapse-carbon/synapse-carbon-sm-5-105-compact-crankset Mine looks almost like the one in the link. The paint is just slightly different but same colors. -

My concern is not buying the right thing first time. My GF Sugar was like $1800. After one season I dumped just as much into it in XTR, saddle and pedal upgrades -
I have been reading a lot that the polls are being done incorrectly. They are done in a manner to make O look better which in turn influences voters. Nobody wants to pick a loser. It's interesting that when you read the comments after any political story about 80 percent of the comments are anti O. The remaining comments are liberal name callers. No argument just calling everyone who doesn't vote O stupid. Not seen anything like this before. Here in CT they smoke the O dope. My neighbors scare me more than I scare them :cookoo:

Source USA TODAY More Americans are heading outdoors to hunt and fish for fun, reversing a two-decade-long decline among adults. Eleven percent more Americans (ages 16 and older) fished and 9% more hunted in 2011 than in 2006, according to a new five-year survey from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The kids went, too. Of those ages 6 to 15, 13% more hunted (from 1.6 million to a record 1.8 million) and 2% more fished (from 8.3 million to 8.5 million) during the same period. The preliminary state-by-state data were released this month. "What we see is a pretty significant change in direction," says Dan Ashe, the Fish and Wildlife Service's director, noting declines in prior surveys since 1991. He says the specific causes for the reversal won't be spelled out until the final report is issued later this year but adds: "There's a growing realization that doing things outdoors is healthy." The recession had a major impact, says Rob Southwick of Southwick Associates Inc., a Florida-based firm that tracks the industry and noticed an increase in licenses for hunting and fishing three years ago. He says these old-fashioned pastimes had been giving way to other leisure activities such as kids' sports teams and computer games. "But when times got tough, people wanted to go back to the basics" and what they did growing up, he says. Another factor is the softening of hunting regulations by nearly three dozen states since 2004, says Tom Hughes of the National Wild Turkey Federation, an organization that promotes hunting. More states now offer apprentice licenses that don't require hunters' education for beginners accompanied by licensed hunters. Urban fishing programs and other outreach efforts by private groups and state agencies have also increased in recent years, targeted especially at youth, says Jon Gassett, commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. "For a while, I thought we lost them (youth) to the computer generation," Gassett says, adding the new efforts seem to be luring them back. His department is showcasing the state's wildlife resources this month by rolling out a new app-like guide for mobile devices. Higher participation numbers aren't due to U.S. population growth, because even the share of adult Americans who hunted (6% last year) or fished (14%) were each up one percentage point from 2006 -- the first such shift in 20 years. Not all states saw the uptick in wildlife-related recreation. Of the 28 states that did, the largest percentage increases occurred in Alaska (47%) and Louisiana (40%), according to the 2011 survey based on Census Bureau interviews with 48,627 households. Fishing and hunting vary widely among states. The share of state residents who fished last year ranged from 6% in California to 41 % in Alaska for people ages 16 and older. The participation rate for hunters ranged from 1% in Massachusetts to 21% in South Dakota. The differences depend on state policies, economies, demographics and weather, says Sylvia Cabrera, who worked on the 2011 survey for the Fish and Wildlife Service. Because of the prior downward trend, she says the new data came as a surprise. "More people are looking to harvest their own food," says Ken Hardy of Wild West Guns, a store in Anchorage, recalling a "poor female college student" who recently went on her first hunt.

Source: The Hill The Obama administration issued new guidance intended for defense contractors Friday afternoon, reiterating the administration’s position that the companies should not be issuing layoff notices over sequestration. The Labor Department issued guidance in July saying it would be “inappropriate” for contractors to issue notices of potential layoffs tied to sequestration cuts. But a few contractors, most notably Lockheed Martin, said they still were considering whether to issue the notices — which would be sent out just days before the November election. But the Friday guidance from the Office of Management and Budget raised the stakes in the dispute, telling contractors that they would be compensated for legal costs if layoffs occur due to contract cancellations under sequestration — but only if the contractors follow the Labor guidance. The guidance said that if plant closings or mass layoffs occur under sequestration, then “employee compensation costs for [Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification] WARN act liability as determined by a court” would be paid for covered by the contracting federal agency. Senate Republicans, who accused the White House of trying to hide job losses after the first guidance, said Friday that the new OMB statement “puts politics ahead of American workers.” “The Obama Administration is cynically trying to skirt the WARN Act to keep the American people in the dark about this looming national security and fiscal crisis,” Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) said in a statement. “The president should insist that companies act in accordance with the clearly stated law and move forward with the layoff notices.” The fight over WARN Act notices began in June when Lockheed Martin CEO Bob Stevens said his company might send the notices to all 123,000 of its employees. Some companies were hesitant to follow Lockheed, but several others told McCain in letters earlier this month they might send the notices, too, despite the Labor Department guidance. But the new guidance would appear to address one of the chief concerns from the companies — that they could be liable to compensate employees who were laid off if the companies don’t issue the notices. The GOP senators complained, however, that this tactic would push the cost of the layoffs onto taxpayers. A Lockheed Martin spokeswoman told The Hill that the company is still reviewing the documents.

It's funny. The town referenced on their home page is the town where I grew up and got my permit at 21. They were playing the games then and Im 46 now. At least now we have the internet to help with this shit. The first selectman Kurt Miller is a total asshole and a perfect example of small town politics at it's worst. I cant imagine him changing anything.

Who can tell gun shots, fireworks and backfires apart?

Here in New Haven gun shots are so frequent I can call caliber, bullet and velocity while listening to my ipod. I can even describe the shooter.
