  1. +1 on the Mecharmor TacOps-1 +1 on the Magpul CTR or MOE w/ LaRue riser I own a Midwest Ind handguard. The metal isn't all that strong. Personally, I suggest APEX hanguards. Save yourself unwanted weight and forego the top rail. Think about grips too. The Magpul MOE+ is my #1 pick right now
  2. I'll stick with my Kryptek.
  3. There was a company a few years ago (Fidelis Arms) that was spouting off about a true 12g and 20g upper that worked off a 308AR. It used G3 style mags.
  4. Ps. That new shotgun is sweet looking. I see a big market following that. Pps. Still waiting for a shotgun upper on my 308AR... Shibi??
  5. Schit. I can't barely handle the one I have. Who needs more? That's what hookers are for. They're cheaper in the long run too.
  6. I say it's a .260 Rem 6.5 Creedmoor or Lapua barrel... (The .260 uses .308 brass, so it should be made it deeper)
  7. This is going to sound really silly... I'm assuming that you haven't shot this rifle yet... are you sure that's a .308 barrel? I think you need your chamber reamed again.you could try a chamber brush on a dremmel tool, but I don't think a simple polish will do.
  8. Wtf bro? That's not failure to feed! Your bullet fed fine. That looks like a failure to go into battery. You need to double, triple, quadruple check that you are using the correct buffer and spring. A failure to feed would have the cartridge jammed up in the receiver. Never making it into the chamber/barrel.
  9. The only schit we grow in California is a lot darker green, with a very distinctive 7-pedal leaf, and smells like a skunk.
  10. Like a monte carlo A1 stock?
  11. I have the Nightforce NXS Compact 2.5-10x32 with the Velocity 600 reticle. With the Nightforce titanium mount, you're looking at about $1500. I'm a big fan of the SWFA 1-6x (FFP) and the Vortex Razor HD Gen ii 1-6x24 (SFP). I'm leaning a little more towards the SWFA right now, although the window in the Vortex is enormous... scope dilemmas are inescapable.
  12. Maybe the .50AE scares the piss outta him when he's shooting....
  13. Get rid of those godforsaken grips. Yuck. Lol Glad you two have been reunited Don't forget to put the orange tip back on.
  14. If he told me slapping Edgecrusher would make me a better shot... I'd buy a plane ticket, fly across the entire country, and leave that gimp with a black eye. Lol
  15. The company that makes the wood furniture is called Lucid. http://www.woodforar15.com/product/stock-sets-2/ Call them up. Awesome people. They'll answer all your questions. You can also order directly from them.
  16. Are you sure he's not talking about a liquid cooled suppressor?
  17. I have a .308 Ruger GSR that needs a lighter weight stock. Want to tackle that?
  18. @Warthog984 Fwiw, you'll get a lot of info from a lot of us... but we all go to SurvivalShop when we need advice. I really think he's Eugene Stoner, masquerading on our site as the wise old man on the mountain. Most of our experience is just regurgitated info he already imparted on us when we had a similar issue. Honestly, if he said changing my front sight post would improve my weapon cycling, I'd swap that bitch out immediately.
  19. PS. I haven't completely ruled out other options yet either. FNX45; max capacity, but it's full size limits my carry options and it uses polymer parts that I've seen fail firsthand. Sig P227; A perfect design in the P220 with a new hi-cap frame, but they outsource their 14rd mags to MecGar. Sig P320; sounds good on paper. Still more rumor and mystery than reality.
  20. While in search of my next high cap .45 I reread the Detonics MTX and STX. I'm becoming more and more a fan of the concept. Especially learning that they use the already available STi mags. My dept doesn't allow "cocked and locked" for duty, but it's okay for CCW. I'm thinking (since you can just swap slides) that this may be a perfect modular piece for me. One frame and two slides; one 4.25" striker fired (STX) for duty, and one 3.5" single action (MTX-H) for CCW. I know I wasn't a big fan in the beginning, but the more I read the more I'm interested.
  21. I'm using the AR10A mag catch as well. I doubt that's the issue. It's a better part than the other options available. I say you invest $5.00 in a chamber brush and some 000 steel wool. Chuck the brush into a rotary tool (a drill works, but a dremmel works better) and polish up the chamber. Then work on the feed ramp. You might have to check out some steel magazines. I know at least one guy here has a rifle that refuses to uses Magpul mags, but runs fine on steel DPMS LR308 mags.
  22. I'm wondering if magazine seating is correct?? Take out your mag catch and see if your magazine can seat deeper. Are you trying to load from a full magazine? Or are you loading 1 or 2 at a time?
  23. Phase 5 extended bolt release. .. You won't be upset.
  24. I'm looking for a good deal on some AR-10 mags. A friend of mine scored an Armalite, but the idiot LGS sold him LR-PMAGs. I have since liberated his PMAGs, but he can't shoot till I find him some replacements. Preferably 10 round, California compliant
  25. Wait a minute.... I don't think I like where this is headed...
