  1. Don't forget the laser guided scope
  2. Ps. I would bang Katy into a coma, dislocating both hips and leaving her permanently blind in one eye with a facial palsy that caused her to drool when she spoke. THEN, when I'm done, I'll crush a bottle of viagra into dust, snorting lines like Tony Montana, as I create reenactments of the event, until im so dehydrated that all I'm shooting is spinal fluid.
  3. BATFE recognized that the AFG is NOT considered a "vertical foregrip". So pistols are okay to wear them. If your OAL is less than 27" then no vert grips without the AOW. If it's over 27", then your firearm is no longer a pistol or a rifle, it is just a firearm... thereby allowing vert grips again. Did that make sense?
  4. Oh damn!
  5. Yeah, and thanks to Jon I've been shopping for a P227... I might hold out to see if they come out with more models.
  6. Easy to say when you don't live in California... for some it's just too hard to pull out from a half million dollar home, a job that pays a whole hell of a lot for doing very little, year around 75° weather, the ability to visit the snow/beach/desert/plains/mountains/city for a 1-2 hour drive. Have you tried our sushi? Not to mention colleges/education, more pro teams than most states combined, and ... you've seen our women, right? The song is called "California Girls" for a reason. So we have shitty gun laws, have to wear motorcycle helmets, and can't talk on cell phones while driving... While there are a few of us on the fence about leaving, understand that it is a very high and long fence, that will take quite a bit before one goes over.
  7. One of the guns on my bucket list....
  8. I heard the Phx gun show is the best show in the west. I've always wanted to go to it.
  9. Crap. My kid just zapped Edge's response... sorry bro. Little fingers are really fast. With all the varying measurements in the 308AR world, it'd be hard to make one set that would reliably cover all receivers the same. I bought an extended pin set and, while it sticks out enough on one side, it barely goes all the way through both sides of the receiver. I'd be more interested to know if the ETP/EPP and the BADCASS are going to be included in the "ounces equal pounds" mission? Wouldn't mind tricking out a rig with a bunch of Ti parts.
  10. It's August 15th, 16th & 17th this year. I'll be there!
  11. I rented the new Robocop from one of those machines at the grocery store... I want my $1.25 back.
  12. I have two blacks out of California. Both were about 250-300 lbs. Both taken with my Mossberg .308 bolt action. On my first bear hunt (I was young) I forgot my ammo and had to buy ammo at a hardware store. All they had was 180gr SP. I head shot a boar at about 30 yards. My second bear hunt (also my wife's first anything-hunt) I was loaded with Hornady 150gr ballistic tip. Another head shot at 60 yards landed a sow.
  13. Pappy! Holy cow. I was beginning to think you were kidnapped and sold into slavery in some oil sheiks sex harem.
  14. I'll still take the hug, and I won't even bother pulling my pants up either! Last night, while the JB was still pliable, I dipped my finger in water and ran an indentation along the channel. This was to make room for the guide rod in the .22lr conversion BCG. I actually used the side of a Bic pen to press in and smooth out the JB. I left a small portion open, just as CMMG did, at the front end of the CH. This is for those people that don't have a dedicated .22lr, and their rifle has a gas tube installed. Hindsight being 20:20, I should've filled the whole damned thing. I built my rifle without a gas tube, so the extra space isn't needed. I may go back and fill it... Function tested this morning... A few hours shy of complete curing, per the instructions... she's up and running!
  15. I've had a lot of down time... Most of it spent shooting and shopping online.... it has been very expensive.
  16. Against better judgment, I talked myself into buying my first piece of CMMG gear. Even though I am a adamantly against all products from that company. My reasoning was simple. I was building a dedicated .22lr AR and CMMG made a .22lr specific charging handle. Despite looking everywhere, it appeared that CMMG was my only option. (As you can see, the CH is filled in through the shaft. This is to prevent ejected shells from getting stuck in the normally empty channel) The rifle lasted only a few months before the CMMG part finally failed me. Bubba can attest to my colorful use of four letter epithets, describing my enthusiasm. To make matters worse, this was a rifle I built for my wife. So now I also had to go home and explain to my wife what I did to her rifle. Here's a closer shot of where the polymer CH failed. My wife, being as forgiving as she is, tells me, "it's ok. Now you just have to buy me a new one... and this time I want it to be ambidextrous! I think I deserve the best one out there since you broke mine." Oh really??? FINE! Here's the world's first .22lr, dedicated, TacOps-1. A big glob of steel JB weld filled the channel nicely. It's still "setting" right now, so I'll have to update this tomorrow after its done curing. So far so good....
  17. Still laughing. ..
  18. Why not get the complete JP LMOS then?
  19. "The Colony" was scripted reality. In season 2, Adam "Tick" Ticknor (who joined mid season) blew the whole thing open afterwards. Especially when a cast member was killed in the filming of season 3. Tick explained that the cast was given tasks on a weekly or daily basis. Certain members were given the information on how to accomplish the tasks so to make them look like experts. They still had to survive their conditions. Doctors on site watched in case there was a decline in health. If you saw the accident in season 1, the guy has some impressive bandaging afterwards, despite the limited medical experience of the cast. In season 2, the cast was so weak they brought in Tick, a former recon sniper, who had an opportunity to study the area prior to arrival and stated he already knew which indigenous animals and plants he'd be able to harvest. While it was great entertainment and had some decent ideas, it was still TV. Fences, gates, or anything that'll control ingres or egress. Buildings with few to no windows that are reachable from the ground level outside. An accessible roof top. A self contained fire control system, that doesn't run on city utilities that can be shut off. We already talked about solar. Old furnace systems for heat. Proper plumbing facilities to accommodate everyone housed in the facility... it could get stinky real fast. Cooking and eating facilities. On top of the facility properties, you should look at other surrounding resources. Proximity to fresh water, transportation, hospitals and even restaurants and grocery stores.
  20. Your bullet is a long ways out of the barrel before the buffer is returning your BCG into battery. If you think about it, the BCG doesn't even move until the bullet is halfway down the barrel, passing the gas block. Additionally, the heavy buffer will slow down the cyclic rate of your rifle. I'll bet the bolt isn't even completely back before the bullet leaves the muzzle. The adjustable gas block was designed for race gunners, who want to make the lightest weight possible rifle, that will cycle extremely fast, where accuracy comes second to speed. When the first .308's rolled off the line, they came with carbine gas systems. That was a huge overkill on gas. It caused some issues for some shooters. An inexpensive fix for most of those guys was the Adj Gb. Nowadays, most .308 bbls come with mid or rifle length gas systems, and the diameter of the gas port hole has been more strenuously tested. The gas is a lot better regulated without needing any adjustments (assuming you do your part is buying a quality barrel). If you are looking to soften the impulse of the rifle, thus reducing the felt recoil, the heavy buffer will help. Many of us who have high end rigs are using the heavy (tungsten) buffers. Just my $0.02
  21. My father in law has one that drapes over the top of his pack while backpacking. It charges his phone and spare battery all day, which he listens to music on all night, while sucking down a 5th of Jack and a half box of cigars... lol
  22. I'm sure getting a lot more "practice" for baby #2... lol
  23. Ps. I'm so impressed with how this 9mm feels, I'm half tempted to grab a second one for myself... If I wasn't so passionately in love with my Walther PPK/s .380, my mind would've already been made up.
  24. All the better for plinking... gotta love that.
