  1. Those kill me. I wondered why Greg wore Velcro gloves....
  2. Drew, you of all people should know fingers are irreplaceable. You go through fingers like my wife goes through designer jeans.
  3. Lisa is an angel... And a Raiders fan!! I knew I had reasons to like her. SI Defense (and all the other northern MT companies) are top notch in my book.
  4. That's really sweeet. Ive never won anything like that. I'm glad to hear when friends score like that.
  5. Hemi, that's the one! After 3 rounds my shoulder filed a restraining order against me. I swear, anyone who shoots that rifle just for sheer pleasure should be certifiable as a "danger to them-self" and committed. I can't tell if Mike is masochistic for owning it, or sadistic for letting us shoot it.
  6. I just got a NEMO 18" barrel from Brownells. It's super nice looking. The melonite finish is like a Rolls Royce finish. I'm installing it shortly, just need to grab a gas block to finish off this build.
  7. Meanwhile, somewhere in MD, the young child of a FFL just got braces and a new bike.
  8. I just installed one on mine. Now you're making worry!
  9. Didn't break out the WSM for the girls???
  10. I bought a pair of Merrells and nearly put up a fight before taking them off. They are the most comfortable shoe I've worn for regular/everyday living. I wear them hunting too. They really hold up well. Dr Martins and Converse "Chuck Taylor" AllStars are still my go-to shoe on most days.
  11. Magpul MBUS Gen2 If you wait for the good deals, you'll grab them for about $75 a set. ($45 rear sight, $30 front sight) Sturdy, reliable, and fast to deploy. Easy to maintain and upgrade if necessary.
  12. In the humblest way possible, I'd like to point out to all of you that I was right!! Lol Kidding aside, I'm glad you checked this before spending lots of money on parts and labor. Check the tip of your firing pin for burrs or edges. Sometimes a sharp pin will hit a primer like a cookie cutter. It pulls little pieces of brass into the bolt. Those little pieces can jam up the extractor spring and start breaking stuff. This is exactly what happened to my 7.62x39 build.
  13. I wear 5.11 ATAC 6" w/ composite toe all day at work. I love these boots. I ride in them, walk/run in them and fight in them. I burn through a pair in about 12 months.
  14. In my personal preference, there are only two muzzle devices out there. #1. The BattleComp. In any size (v1.0, v1.5, v2.0, BABC) is my most favorite muzzle device. This compensator eliminates absolutely all muzzle rise. This provides near instant follow up shots. My 25 yard double tap, with a single stage trigger, can get under 1". The second feature is that the BC's have closed front ends on them, acting similarly to a baffle. It doesn't take away the recoil, but instead changes it to a easy push instead of a sharp punch. #2: The JP "Tank" brake is a giant chunk of steel. It virtually reduces the felt recoil down to barely noticeable. The .308 gets reduced to what most agree feels like a .223. The big negative is that enormous side concussion. Better the brake, bigger the side blast. If absolute precision, at extreme range, was your goal... Or you were shooting a heavily punishing round (like the .50 BMG)... There is no subsitute for the "Tank" brake.
  15. I say take the bolt apart. Sounds to me like you crushed/broke your extraction spring. Pull the bolt apart and go over the small parts. This may be a less than $1 fix. Ps. While JP parts are really nice, they were designed to be used in THEIR rifles, in conjunction with THEIR parts. Even JP acknowledges their competition parts aren't 100% reliable. Hence the separation between LMOS and full mass rifles.
  16. I have two of these. They are great triggers. Only negative is the flat versions are difficult to use with a Phase5/Magpul battery lever. The lack of a curved trigger loses a lot of space.
  17. IMHO... The BattleComp BABC is superior to all. You should look at the LMOS buffer and spring vs the captured/silent system. Take a look at the Geissele SD-3G too Magpul CTR is a much better choice than the MOE. I actually like the ACS-L the most.
  18. On a cold shot, that FA barrel will make a shot a lot longer than 500 yards. I have no doubt that it will still be a sub-MOA on a standard shot.
  19. If you do build around the JP LMOS, get the adj GB. The system was designed to work together. I don't think any FA barrel can get hot enough in semi auto to become inaccurate at medium distance. If you were trying to shoot 600+ with a hot LW 16", I'd say GOOD LUCK. Anything shy of that should be fine.
  20. I absolutely love the FA .308 barrel selection. For 3-gun, your accuracy should be fine. The barrel will get warm and lose MOA accuracy. I've never seen a run-n-gun that needed better than minute of man. You should still be under 4MOA at 100 yards. That'll keep you on steel to 300 yards. As for an adjustable block.... The rifle length gas might be the absolute (or damn near close to) minimum gas already needed. I feel that if you put an adjustable block on, you'd just leave it full/open all the time. A heavy buffer or carrier weight might work out better if you're just trying to soften the impact. Also, to add speed and ease to your shooting... The BattleComp BABC, the BAD Inc short throw selector and a MechArmor "TacOps-1" charging handle (check out our group buy) are all perfect accessories for what you're looking for.
  21. Jut a reminder. This is till going. Feel free to fill in the poll as well. Please share this with all the other junkies you know.
  22. I have a 14.5" 5.56 begging for a scope like this
  23. A total, "This is Sparta!" moment.
