  1. You can secure the connection. Others will require a "key" to use your service. You can also use your phone through a hard-wire connection. Then there is no wireless connection to deal with.
  2. While not exactly "REQUIRED".... Why not do a complete job, right? The Armalite AR-10 spring is considered an "upgrade" from a standard DPMS variant spring. Call Clint at heavybuffers.com and ask to ad the spring to your order. It's an extra $15 for the new spring... But that's a small fee for the added sense of security. While its advised against by Clint, I personally use a Tubb CS Flat Spring. It was a spare part I had sitting in my box (left over from when I had the hydraulic buffer installed). The flat spring seems to be working fine for me right now.
  3. I hope you got the upgraded spring while you ordered!
  4. Getting a wireless card is quick and easy, and that's what the extra $40-$50 per month is for. If you have a smartphone, that's the cheaper way to do it. Go to your service provider (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, whoever) and ask them how to set up your pc/phone for Internet.
  5. What's the abuse? Driving???
  6. It's the same reason why car companies have an "economy" option. Not everyone wants to drop the $$$ for a GT500 Cobra, when they are perfectly fine driving a V6 model.
  7. Does that mean you get 12 new rifles? If so, then sign me up for the next meeting!!
  8. If short stroking were an issue, I doubt there would be such a resounding fellowship of support for the product on this site. Like I said... I owned both... Used both in the same rifle... Now I own one.
  9. I recently got a lower with all black Magpul furniture. All the parts are brand-spankin new. 1. Magpul MOE stock (commercial) 2. Magpul MOE grip 3. Magpul MOE trigger guard I'm looking to swap for the same parts in Foliage Green. I can throw in $$ if you have different model stuff.
  10. That's lookin pretty sweet. I like that APEX on there too. I have an extra 15" APEX waiting for the next build. What trigger did you go with?
  11. I agree that an adjustable gas block and lightweight BCG and buffer assembly are likely a softer recoil. That being said, even JP Rifles (who probably makes the best damned lightweight system available) does NOT recommend their system for duty/combat use. Instead they use a "full mass" system for anything remotely combat related. If the man who makes it, says it's not 100%, I tend to agree. It may be 99.999%, and that's just not good enough when your life depends it.
  12. Haha, only you guys would see "Old No. 7" and think reloading. Nothing is more "4th of July" than Jack Daniels.
  13. There's a very tired UPS worker, at the bottom of a deep hole, wondering how in the hell he is going to dig to the other side of he earth in time to make the delivery.
  14. Hey Drew, Remember when I sent that barrel to you. I think the driver had more than one or two drinks on that delivery too. It didn't help that it was during one of the worst storms of the year.
  15. The hydraulic buffer is lighter. I think the hydraulic buffer is near the same weight as a standard buffer. If the hydraulic fails, it doesn't effect anything. It just becomes a very expensive, regular buffer. Besides that, it's gotta be DAMNED cold to be an influence on hydraulic fluid. I have to question the sanity of anyone hunting in that kind of weather.
  16. Pork ribs on the grill. Salmon in the smoker. TriTip still marinating. Buffalo chicken wings ready to go in the oven! Mother-in-law picking up some final essentials at the grocery store. Wife is in the house with the baby, and the rest of the women-folk. Men are on the back patio surrounding a box of cigars and a bottle of old No. 7. To end the night we have enough fireworks to qualify as a WMD. It's not the 4th if your front yard doesn't look like the Gaza Strip the next morning.
  17. A match trigger, a BattleComp BABC and a heavy buffer are the first three upgrades I think a person should do to his rifle.
  18. General opinion is that the heavy buffers work a bit better for the casual shooter. The way I understand it, the hydraulic buffers were originally designed for suppressed, full-auto fire. Since I shoot neither suppressed, nor full-auto, I didn't feel I gained enough benefits to continue use. Only one person on this site has ever voiced a problem with a heavy buffer. He was having a lot more issues than his buffer though (CMMG issues if I remember correctly). I definitely wouldn't let one misguided review dissuade my decision.
  19. Food for thought. I had the Enidine hydraulic buffer in my .308 and it worked fine. I now have a stainless/tungsten heavy buffer (CAR-10) from www.heavybuffers.com. I use the heavy buffer exclusively now. I sold the hydraulic buffer long ago.
  20. Anything can be "made" to work. CMMG doesn't have the best reputation for parts. Often they are within spec, but at the extreme ends of the spectrum. Some fitting is usually required to get things working properly. Be patient. Ask LOTS of questions. And most importantly, try to remember this is an expensive endeavor. Buying a completed upper is a sure way to enhance your chances of working properly. Especially if you are a novice builder.
  21. My .308 is all MT parts. I have love for Columbia Falls too. The wife just wants a house by a lake. I think I can pull that off up there.
  22. I put a bid on a new toy I saw on GunBroker... We'll see what happens in a few days.
  23. THAT WAS SICK!!! I tried drifting a C:-) BMW R1150rt, back in 2007.... Didn't make it :'(... Ok, I wasn't intentionally "trying" to drift, and the $4k repair bill helped the LT take a healthy piece outta my @ss.
  24. Does anyone else ever go back and read the stupid sh!t they posted in the past?
