    Hi from SC

ErikS, welcome aboard. <thumbsup> Way high for his work - it's not that high. It's almost 1/2 that. http://www.triggerwork.net/ar15s.html
  2. I concur. I've never seen a locking system like this, but I love it. It's pure genius. <thumbsup>
  3. At this point, brother, it doesn't even need to be clean - "dirty" would be nice... <dontknow>
  4. There was a Hi Rider, that was ridiculous, but there are currently only two versions of the flat-top upper. Not quite sure what you're talking about here, with what you have. Just hit the measurement links, find out what you have, and go from there - or post a side-shot pic of the back of your upper, without the charging handle in there. We'll figure it out. <thumbsup>
  5. Still waiting for the pics of the Young carrier, Matt. Just a reminder. You're 50% redeemed at this point - well, maybe 60% for the inclusion of the hands... But, it's not complete yet. :o
  6. That's a damn great article - nice find! <thumbsup>
  7. The setup looks alot like my Tactical Tailor 3-point, with the Spectre having the sliding lock that mine doesn't. I like it alot on the .308. There won't be any battle-drill quick movements with the .308, so the 3-point doesn't need to be quickly adaptable, IMHO. At least for me. It's wide enough to offer great support around the body. Love it. <thumbsup>
  8. I've never bought a complete AR-anything, only built. If I was going to buy one, the only thing I would straight-out buy, complete, would be the LaRue OBR. That damn thing is so nice, I'd buy it in .308 or 5.56 - I wouldn't mind having either one.
  9. What Precision Firearms is working on is a set of handguards that will fit on a NM free float sleeve, and clear the NM gas tube for it. All these things are CNC cut, so it's going to be a slight change in design (for strength), but will still be internally machined to clear the sleeve components. <thumbsup> Here's what the inside of the guards looks like now: The way these are machined now, they're closely following the standard gas tube - no way they'd clear the NM float sleeve and gas tube. Hopefully, the exterior dimensions won't need to change much, and look the same as they do now - or close to it. Again, guys, this is for the AR-15-sized rifles, as far as what fits. Transferring it all over to the Big Brother will be trial and error (and parts/dimensions matching) on your part. If what you have is from an AR-15, or fits an AR-15, then this stuff should do the exact same. <thumbsup>
  10. DPMS LR-308, brother - not AR-10. That's only Armalite. Terminology thing. Like Drew said recently, "think Ford Corvette..." By the way - that's my very favorite plane to jump out of. Tailgates are the sheeeiiit! <thumbsup>
  11. Those Talley's are nice looking! <thumbsup>
  12. A set of low rings then, to keep the scope as close to the bore as you can. I almost picked up a set of the Warne Maxima QD rings, but ended up going a little cheaper. I'll probably put them on the new 10/22, though.
  13. What size on the scope, brother? What's the objective bell diameter?
  14. See if there are any Appleseed shoots in your neck of the woods. I just found out that there's one at my local range coming up pretty soon - actually can't wait. Gonna be fun. <thumbsup> http://www.appleseedinfo.org/ Found the Indiana schedule, brother: http://www.appleseedinfo.org/search-states.php?filter=IN&statename=Indiana
  15. YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! ;D You rock, Matt!!! <thumbsup> <laughs>
  16. Depending on what you want to do to it for a project, you could probably build the whole thing instead. Decent price for receivers is $130 from NoDak Spud. I'll try to find the other place I was looking at that sells the factory Ruger bolts and trigger groups very cheap - I'll dig that up. http://www.nodakspud.com/NDS-22.htm
  17. Be advised - the Armalite clamp-on comes "unloaded." You'll need to pick up a front sight post, spring and detent. It does come with the allen bolts to clamp it on. <thumbsup> You will need a 16" barrel if you intend to run rifle-length handguards. A 14.5" will be too short.
  18. You can use the clamp-on Armalite front sight base on the barrel. That's what I picked up for my .45 AR Dissy build. The barrel is .750 at the traditional gas block mounting location, and very slightly steps down in front of that. The .750 Armalite clamp-on definitely had the range to clamp down very, very securely to the barrel. <thumbsup> It was incredibly cheap through DSG Arms, with the MIL discount. Forty-something.
  19. This will be a very nice build. <thumbsup>
  20. Awesome, Greg!!! <thumbsup>
  21. Jon, I HAD to do it... <laughs>
  22. 10/22s are as bad as AR-15s - you can make anything, and somebody makes a part that you want, no matter what it is that you want. Stuff is everywhere. You can upgrade anything you want, or could dream of. <thumbsup>
  23. Drew posted up info on an adjustable spanner wrench sometime in the past. Search on "spanner wrench" and it should come up. <thumbsup>
  24. I've got a buddy up in Minnesota right now (he's from here in AZ), that is going through an inheritance settlement after a death in the family. He's actually shipping firearms today (few hours ago). Once he gets back, I'll have to ask him what he had to go through. I know he was shipping UPS, and the store policy was that they would only ship to a FFL. He's not "transferring" them - they're his now, and he's simply shipping them to himself, here in AZ. They're not changing ownership, so he should have been able to UPS them to his doorstep. <dontknow> He'll be back in a few days, so I'll see what the story/details of everything was.
