Things did not go as planned - Newbie needs advice
98Z5V replied to Im4Rights's topic in Introductions
This means the recoil systems clear, on both guns. Go over the details again, each gun specifically, now in the thread. Get the current infor on each gun, in it's on paragraph - list all the current specs and details, as well as what each one is doing. Let's work on each gun individually. Recoil system details, complete, each gun. Gas system complete, each gun - all info in a paragrah for each gun, both gas and recoil. For gas system info, gas port diameter, gas block journal diameter, type of gas system (either midlentgth or rifle)l pic of each gas tube's protrusion into the upper receiver, in relation to the cam pin cutout in the upper receiver. -
I'm definitely down with that Defensive Tactic, right there. It has my approval.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2
98Z5V replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
Jeebus! You got ALL THAT in one order?! Last time I got 6# of powder was a month ago, and that was just under $300... 8# powder, 3 bricks of primers, brass, projos... That's a pile of money, right there, man. -
@kdawg0124, check this out. Pack your bags, you meanass...

That means, Ron, that you cannot skip this year - like you've done for so many years now. I'm Just sayin'... More popcorn.. I'll no-question get Kate and Jon involved in this coversation. Because. And again... File your fuqin' SBR paperwork, motherfucker. Like now. You know the dates. Oh, if you want slack, cut the rope.

Review, KCI Mags for B&T firearms (AP9, GHM9 & more)
98Z5V replied to BrianK's topic in PCC’s and PDW’s
You drop a KCI Glock mag feedlips-down, and you'll bend the feedlips. My $0.02 on what KCI is doing. Since you bought a bunch, try that out and see what happens. If they bend, unload the rest to someone on GB, as "New, unopened, still in original packaging." etc. -
You did clearly state that all you had was the receiver. That's all you bought. Doesn't matter what you bought, or what parts we looked at in pics, and self-determined that you added them, if we assumed that you bought a true stripped lower. This is all you said, right in your first post... Now, it doesn't matter if it was a stripped receiver or not, I simply tried to tell you how to determine the difference, if it was sold as a stripped lower, or if you have a teken-apart gun. Doesn't matter anyway, it's the same quality receiver. This isn't an attack on you - I don't understand why everyone is freaking out about stripped, not stripped, what parts you have. I don't understand why it's such a big deal...

According to ARFCOM, the LT-158 is 7 oz. https://www.ar15.com/forums/ar-15/LaRue_Tactical_LT104_LT158_Weight_/18-568658/
-
Not unmounting an optic just for a weight measurement, but I'll bet that if you call LaRue, they can tell you the exact weight, for the size you need - I noticed that they're doing the 158 in 34mm and 35mm now, so there's 4 possible sizes with different weights. I have a LT-745 mount here that's not on a gun yet. I can weigh that, it won't be much different. Or, next time I get a 158 in, I'll weigh it and update this thread.

All DPMS LR-308 lowers use a threaded pin for the bolt catch. They are the ones that started that.

Post pics of the before and after. Right here.

That was a very good one! Nice find, brother!

We have no idea what buffer system you have, until you measure it all out and tell us. Your barrel that you have will run - if you tell us the specs on the barrel that you have. Please read this, so you understand the level of detail that necessary, in order to fix someone's gun over the internet, using their spoken words, and not firing it yourself (ourselves). In the past, we almost had to waterboard people for information about their gun - and it's pretty tiresome. We stopped doing that. You want help with your gun? Spill details. This link below spells out the level of detail that we need, to fix functional issues with your gun, over the internet. Thanks in advance. For understanding.

Well, you certainly blew Reading Comprehension then. Selective Reading is what you did, and if you really looked at what I said, I told you it was $258 now. BEFORE I told you that JoeBama has fucked everything up, and it's now $258. That's "inflation" and "supply chain delay" that caused this. It USED TO BE $210, and IF (BEFORE) you didn't want the QD levers, you got it $50 less, at $160. I thought I was pretty clear on that, but apparently now, I wasn't and must be more clear. Reading Comprehension, my man. Stick with it. Read UP there if you think I'm BSing you. I stated it right. You didn't read it right, and got all wrapped around the axle.

Don't know if it's pre-ban, myself of not, because Remington killed all the old-skool DPMS information when they bought them. Google searches can still turn up old DPMS serial number databases, but not always. Worth a shot. I'll tell you this with absolute certainty, though - When DPMS was in production, every single - and I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE -of their stripped LR-308 lower receivers, that were EVER offered for sale straight from them - they delineated the stripped lowers that they made, from the full-assembled guns that they made. On every single one of their stripped LR-308 lowers that they ever offered for sale, they stamped a capital letter "K" at the end of the serial number. If you do NOT have that "K" at the end of your serial number, then the lower that you bought was never offered, straight from DPMS, as a stripped lower. Ever. What you have purchased is a lower that someone stripped DOWN to a lower receiver, and sold. It was never sold, straight from DPMS as a stripped lower, unless it had that :"K: at the end of the serial string. That right there is solid information. Take it to the bank.
-
Aero M5 upper receiver will pin to that just fine. There's a "K" at the end of your serial number, isn't there...

You're fired. I didn't even read anymore after that opening sentence. No need to.

That LT-111 is 1.535" above the mounting surface, and it's just not ideal for a semi-auto, because of that. It also doesn't get the scope forward, which you want on a 1-piece mount on an AR. I wouldn't use that for an AR. They say it's the perfect mount for the OBR - cool. I get it. It has zero MOA built in, because the OBR has 20 MOA built right in to the top of the gun. There are other mounts they make that are better, for ARs. The 158 isn't that much - it's $258 now. https://www.larue.com/products/larue-tactical-spr-s-mount-lt158/ 10 MOA built in, 1.46" height over mounting surface, and you'll be very hard pressed to find a cantilever mount for an AR that will get lower than that, and still clear big objective lenses. Don't count it out. Buy once, cry once. It used to be $210, and if you selected Legacy VFZ Mount, it took $50 off, and you'd get it for $160. You can thank ONE GUY for that...

DPMS LR308 24” Bull Barrel
98Z5V replied to ebbiv's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
Exactly - like 3 full inches too far back. There's no way that comfortable to shoot, or effective, when most modern scopes have 3~3.5" of eye relief. You cheek has to be on the end of the buttstock... -
They are off the rails, man. Way off the rails...

I looked at my mags, and round-count. My Stg 4 mag still has 4 rounds in it. I shot 16 times, as the guinea pig for this whole windy shiit-show very first, and came up with all 10 hits - but over the time limit, and got 9 credited. Nobody likes a quitter, though, so FUK that buzzer... I didn't hear that thing, but would have shot anyway, had I heard it - I was THAT close... First 2 rounds were way high left, so that's 2 misses, went after that 615yd biotch after the buzzer and missed the first, connected after that, so there's a 3rd missed shot. I missed 3 more, in the math of shots-vs-hits, but I can't tell you where those misses were, on what targets. That was a windy mess... I just wish it would suck that bad, every single month, and the wind would do that, every month, on all stages...
