  1. I'm just gettin' SCHMAMMERED by some Monsoon Rain right now, and it's so fucking awesome... We've needed this for a long time, and it's just crushing me right now. I love it, and I hope it keeps up the rest of monsoon season...

^^^ @DNP does that, every year at his church. BIGASS LONG BBQ pit, every year.

I just spit beer on my computer screen... @Ederds, Ed, what brand of billet upper and lower do you have? That guides the rest of the recommendations...
  4. No worries, man - I ended up with a good pinch on my right hand, too. Made lots of blood, and glad it was just skin, not muscle, tendon or bone. It's doing good this week.
  5. This is great news, brother - Those two were awesome, and I'm sure this one will be, too.
  6. Fuk my life - Technology is CRAZY!!! How about a real-life HALO gun?!
  7. Oh, I know, brother. My 930 SPX was $615 in September 2009, and I paid full-rip MSRP then, just to get it. This year's MSRP on their website is $960, for the exact same gun. Crazy. So, if I wait 10 years to buy this 590A1 here, it'll be another 300 or more by then. Better start planning to get one now, right...
  8. Talked my boss into a Nightstick about 1.5 years ago, right at the beginning of all the Corona-madness, then the country-wide lawlessness. There just weren't any to buy. I notified GunPusher John, and he finally located one, and my boss picked it up today. However, whilst perusing Mossberg's website, to show another coworker the gun we were "leaving early" to go get... I noticed something... The Mossberg Retrograde 590A1. This is one sweetass looking 12ga. I don't like that sticker price, but I love the look of this gun. https://www.mossberg.com/product/590a1-retrograde-51665/ Time will tell...
  9. Received a tracking number today for the 2 that I ordered last weekend.
  10. This will work fine for 20" rifle gas, and that journal diameter. It's a little on the large side by a few thou - but is certainly won't be weak-gassed!
  11. Indeed, my good man!
  12. Right on! Nope, I've never shot at RS, yet. Only public range I shoot at is Cowtown, and that's just recently, once I found out about their Accurized AR Match. It would be easier for us to drive through Rhode Island than get to one side of Phx or another... I've got almost unlimited range down here, on BLM land. We've got two good shooting locations, one is camp (that goes out to 600, right from camp), and then the Long Distance site, with usual suspects out at 500, 850, 1000, 1100, and one that I want to toss out there around 1300~1400. From camp, we can range the 850 at the other site, and it's exactly 1760 yards. It's fun down here, man. As it cools, we get out more. I was out last Sunday morning early, out of there by 10:30am. Doing the same thing this Sunday. Next match at Cowtown is 24 July, so I'll be up there for that one.
  13. Is it even legal for you to build that gun in HI? If it is, WTF do you have to go through to even build it, and make it legal? That's a seriously fucked up state for ARs. I'd love to hear about the drama that you need to do and go through, just to have it there.
  14. @BigNate, what's with the recent rash of you AZ guys joining up, and being afraid to say you're from AZ? I'm just wondering. By leaving that info out, ESPECIALLY THE PHOENIX-AREA DUDES... You... are missing out on some shooting. You are.
  15. Like I said... I'm here for you, brother... ❤️
  16. The cop was ready to fully help that kid out, and Mom fucked that all up... This is to the cop...
  17. Psssshhhh... You didn't even know what it was worth, when I was DEMANDING that you go buy the fucker or tell me where it's for sale...
  18. When I grew up, school taught you HOW TO THINK. They gave you methods, you applied them or didn't, and solved problems, turned in work. English, Math, Science, whatever. These days, schools are trying to teach your kids WHAT TO THINK... And it's just not right.
  19. Ejection port door different on the G2 than on other .308ARs? Same width and height?
  20. I have WOA make my custom gas tubes, when I need them.
  21. At least I keep you coming around. Thank God you're here. If we ever bore you, then...
  22. I updated Placeholder #7 on 21 June 2012, and updated Placeholder #8 tonight, 6 July 2012 - and I'm out of placeholders now... Planned for the future, and filled it up. Any comments on either one of those should be quoted, and start a new thread with comments/questions, on that quote. Please do not reply in this thread - this is an information thread. Only.
  23. I got your back. I got his back, too - depends on where the discussion is going. I'm just trying to keep up the fight...
  24. Does he know what length gas tube he needs yet? It's gonna be Armalite or DPMS-based - and those are AR15 gas tubes, with a different bend than .308AR-based height-over-bore. Something to think about when recommending parts. Again, just my $0.02 on the whole affair. You make a functioning gun, first, with basic parts. You spice it up later, with all the fancy shiit.
  25. Try the gas tube that you have first, and make sure it reaches the center of the cam pin cutout in the upper receiver. If it's short, you'll need the Armalite AR-10 gas tube equivalent. Trigger, start out with a LaRue MBT-2S. It's cheap, and it's made from S7 tool steel, and it's great-priced. Work with that for now, and I'll bet you never feel the need to change it out. Leave the recoil system for last. When you DO add the recoil system, use basic parts first, and not fancy shiit like silent-captured this-n-that. You're running a rifle recoil system. Use a .308AR rifle buffer (5.200" long and 5.4oz), and just use an Armalite EA1095 recoil spring. Make a functioning gun, and when it runs and it's broken in - start changing out for some of the fancy, Race Gun parts. My $0.02 on the whole affair.
