^^^ Good catch, wash.

Very nice work, Paul. Very nice. You'll be surprised at the PA stuff. I've been running the mini red dots for alot of years, and a few of the magnified scopes recently.

Don't believe everything you read, if that's the case. Ammo selection is everything. Barnes 70gr TSX projectiles are devastating on pigs.

V-TAC Mk 1. Rapidly adjustable, solid cam lock in it that won't give out for anything - it's literally the adjusting buckle on a military-issued rucksack strap. I run this sling on ALOT of rifles. I've only got a few other types of slings, with Beachin Tactical being the most common of them. BDS makes a nice sling, too. I still say that V-TAC Mk 1, though. https://www.vikingtactics.com/product-p/vtac-mk1.htm I've got this one on the 700 - V-TAC Mk 2 with cuff - and it is sweet.

I don't think they're necessary, but I think they'd be helpful. The specialty buffers are not only heavier - they're longer. Blowback operated pistol cal carbines have a shorter BCG, because they've got a fixed bolt -not a reciprocating bolt like normal ARs. Based on that shorter length, you need to take up some space in the receiver extension. The most common way is to stack 7 quarters in the receiver extension before you install the spring and buffer. The specialty buffers are a little longer, designed that way for that reason. I run a regular AR15 Carbine H3 buffer, plus $1.75 in mine. The recoil is so tame, the sights don't even come off target. That's why I say "not necessary," but they can be helpful. Up to you.

That's exactly what you should be doing - hit an Appleseed Shoot, and it'll explain/train it all. https://appleseedinfo.org/

That sums him up nicely, gentlemen.

You better show yer a$s up this fall, brother. That's all I'm asking... You get to eat some 45-70 mild-loading recoil...

Not pleased but might be jumping the "gun"
98Z5V replied to Navistar82's topic in Accurizing the .308AR
It's literally gun-by-gun,with the 1:10"s. For ARs, I've got an 18.5" barrel, 18" barrel, 16" barrel, and 13.5" barrel. Haven't finished the 13.5", so I can't talk any shiit about that one yet. Then there's the 700 AAC-SD gun with 20" barrel. Those are all 1:10" twist. I don't even fuk with the Kimber bolt gun (Clackamas manufacture) with 24" barrel, due to the 1:12" twist rate. It gets it's own loads. For "range loading" on the 1:10" guns, I had to find a powder and speed that would make the 150s work on all of them, in a general sense. "Range load ammo" all the same, so it's "decent" no matter which one I take out. Shiit 'bout drove me crazy, too... -
As soon as Oly announced they were closing, I slammed an order - that I'd always meant to do, but never did. I bought 5 ejector springs, 2 ejector assemblies, a full .45ACP bolt, 2 extractors, 5 firing pin springs, and a bunch of other shiit. My .45AR will never go down... I'll get detailed upper receiver pics up tomorrow, man.
-
I will say, in current-governmental terms... "Full Disclosure..." - all my Wilson Arms barrels are .223 Wylde chambers, 1:8" twist, and shoot the damn lights out. They're not .308 Win barrels. They are the 16" midlength precision gun built on Spike's Tactical billet ambi receivers, the Mk12 Mod 0 rifle, and the Woody.
-
If you need pics of what it actually looks like, I'll whip out the .45 and post 'em up.

It bakes at 170 just fine. Extend the time in the manual. Twice. There's a bunch of different cure times for the H-Series. Bottom line is experiment, and get your own times down. The stuff in the Guide is great, and accurate, but if you're baking something "weird," then know what you're doing ahead of time, and adjust accordingly. If you don't wanna bake it, just use the C-Series.
-
You gotta get that scope and mount more forward - that eye relief can't be any good.
-
BigJoe, that's how you get the party started - good job.
-
Fucked you guys, didn't I?...
-
I have 3 (three) Wilson Arms barrels. They all excel, to a great degree. They are phenomenal barrels. Most of you bastards that show up for the AZ Shoots have shot them...

Just so everybody knows, on that spring - and Sprinco makes GREAT springs... http://www.sprinco.com/tactical.html "ORANGE Spring" The ONLY specifically engineered EXTRA POWER Buffer Spring for .308 Carbine Platforms using standard 7" Depth M4 extension tubes and .308 short 2.5" buffers (Including aftermarket "heavy buffers.") You cannot clip coils from any other commercially available buffer spring to yield the proper spring loads for this application, especially in heavily gassed .308 carbine platforms. We started from scratch on this design to provide Operators with a viable alternative to existing OEM and aftermarket offerings. Platforms known to exist using this approach include DPMS, Bushmaster (Post 2010), Remington, CMMG, Mega, SA Defense, Colt 901, Rock River Arms and many others. Color Coded ORANGE. The Sprinco ORANGE spring is specifically designed for the .308AR system, specifically for DPMS-based LR308 recoil systems. That's the AR15 Carbine receiver extension (7" internal depth) and the 2.5" long .308AR Carbine buffer. Just don't want people with a rifle receiver extension going out and buying this spring, and saying it sucks. It doesn't suck. It excels - for exactly what it was designed to do. If you buy this spring, and use it on an Armalite AR-10 Carbine system, then just slap yourself. Or,I'll do it for you.
-
SS, YOU are a prime candidate for a genuine Armalite AR-10 gas tube. Big time, brother. WAY bad.
-
You can drill any upper to those dimensions, and it'll function with the Oly Arms PCC ejector setup.
-
-
Guru, you need to know the specs on drilling a standard upper, to run the Oly parts? Really, it's only the ejector. You need to get the ejector assemblies from them before they shut their doors,if they shut their doors. My order from them, when they announced they were closing, took 2.5 months to ship... I'm just sayin'... Here's the template to drill a standard upper, in order to function with their PCC builds, and run their ejector:

Says who... I Cerakoted and baked an EOTech 512. Twice.

Si. Crazy news, man. Check this out - never paid attention to it, until today...
