392heminut
Copes Distributing has Anderson AR-15 blem stripped uppers on sale for $29.99. These are the ones with a shell deflector but no provisions for a dust cover or forward assist. I've got 2 coming my way. http://www.copesdistributing.com/anderson-blem-stripped-lightweight-sport-upper-receiver-p-7807.html

shibiwan
That's a good price for a blem. You really don't need a forward assist. The F/A only helps the resale value especially if you're re-selling the rifle to a couch commando or someone on ARFcom. A forward assist compatible upper usually runs around $60 while a cosmetic blem is about $40-$45...
blue109
nice find! I wanted one of those! jacot23...these uppers have no provision for a FA or dust cover so you can't add one. I personally have no need for either, but that's personal preference.
jacot23
Thanks for the heads up and the info. Ordered one myself.
392heminut
I used a plug in place of a forward assist on my 300 BLK build and don't intend on putting forward assists in anymore of my builds. I've never needed to use the forward assist on any of my rifles so I'm not messing with them anymore!
Tripledeuce
I guess I'm just unlucky! I'v needed the fa on 4 rifles, only had them on 3. 3 were 223's ( ammo was out of spec) and one was a 30 HRT. The hrt was my fault, I didn't full length size my brass. That was a good learning experience! I won't build another without the fa. Respectfully Terry

shibiwan
F/A has saved me a handful of times though. Most recent was a jammed BCG caused by a loose primer. I managed to push the bolt forward with the F/A and the primer fell out.
