survivalshop
I have a 13" on order to replace the 9"Troy Battle rail hand guard that I sold off my 300BLK build , any one use one yet ? All I had to do is mention I wanted a longer hand guard while a friend was over ( yes I have some <dontknow> ) & he bought it on the spot & I installed it the next day on his AR 15 Carbine with mid length gas system , with A2 sight. This rifle is set up for Hunting ( Hog , Varmint's ) so no need for rails on top . I like the large Barrel nut , good heat sink & if no one has used this HG , I will do a complete write up on it when I install it . Toolndie7
Seems like a pretty nice piece for the price. Let us know what you think of it.
98Z5V
I almost went that route on the short 300BLK. At the last minute, I switched it up to the MI design instead. I'll run one of these rails one day.
survivalshop
I'll give a full review of it , its in route . I just can't believe I took my 300BLK apart & now its just like a non gun , I feel I hurt it or something ! <laughs> That 9" was kinda short to me . survivalshop
Man, they are quick . Go the HG in the mail today & first thing is this is one light HG. The instruction are clear , but figuring the right shims , I could see some having a problem with it . Once you figure it out by reading the instructions ,with the supplied shims, its very ingenious way of setting up the proper torque & alignment on the Barrel nut . Shims are color coded , I used the black & the two blue ones . Looks good Now to install the Gas Block w/Gas tube & Flash Suppressor. Complete with HG installed I have to install the scope & get a better photo on the range
survivalshop
This Hand Guard has a smaller diameter & thought at first is was a little too small , that is until I started playing with it , bringing ti up to point . You can wrap your hand around it & its quite comfortable . I am now a believer in longer hand Guards also , putting my hand out farther sure makes it a better point-able rifle , can't wait to put it through some point & shoot drills . It does have a little flex to it , when I put heavy pressure on it to see if it flexes , but it really doesn't take the stiffness feel out of it .
