Leadshot
I have one chance to buy a 308AR and in need of much help. :help: Who makes the best of the best 16” barrel 308AR, California approved, details please, considering the following: Accuracy Quality After market accessories Affordability Reliability Piston or not? Length between cleaning\ Warranty (high quality manufacture) Price :) Edited July 19, 2015 by Leadshot
Rsquared
I don't know about the California approved models....but do I really need to say? My tag line says it all. Now that being said. My beloved Armalite seems to be slowly moving away from their AR-10B model (the ones I have) more and more.
washguy
go to Rainier Arms and pick you one out off the shelf....you dont need a heavy/bull barrel either :) Wash

Leadshot
Well, I went to the Rainier Arms web site. Terrible! Almost no information about there complete 308 AR rifles. Most sites give major details and guaranties on there products. I did shot a Armalite AR10T about 8 years ago, it was great and very accurate. But I've read horror story's about the newer models, some are accurate and some knot? I kind of want a Piston system rifle? I called Armalite about there AR10T sass 16" barrel and they have a adjustable block but no piston rifles? LaRue looks great but I don't see any piston rifles and the price, WOW!!! Rsquared
Larue, and others (like LWRCI...KAC....etc) are the deep end of the pool my man. And the "true" SASS models from Armalite are of the 20" barreled variety. After all, I believe that's what they submitted for the (what became) M110 platform contract. StainTrain
http://www.lmtstore.com/featured-products/308-modular-weapon-system.html I toyed with one of these and it will be tough to beat. It's DI not Piston. I know you want what you want and I respect that, but in the 308AR, I don't see what a piston gets you other than weight. I can't even believe I am going to write this......You can always get a SCAR-H. They are accurate as hell out of the box....... I feel so dirty. StainTrain
I know...I know.. It damn near gave me arthritis to type the SCAR-H. The OP seemed drunk on Piston Kool-Aid and I was trying to talk him off the ledge. :)) Its because I care.

Rsquared
Yeah, we know that. I mean, don't get me wrong, the SCAR 17 is a nice platform. But I'll take my 10 SBR over that rifle any day of the week. Now, of course, I say that being an Armalite junkie.
