guruofhotrod
The 16" mid length 4150 308 barrel for $124.99 looks pretty good! http://aresarmor.bmetrack.com/c/v?e=7D0E6A&c=84066&l=D8522BF&email=KxGROfWTlNaByy1bwtAlpbQR3BgPsWUo&relid=A0B0E05
warthog984
I saw this add yesterday and was curious that the site says 308 for the product heading, but in the description says it is chambered in 7.62x51. It is also stamped on the barrel 7.62x51. Also, the picture looks like the barrel is nitrided, but it is not stated in the description. Anyone have one of these? Are they safe to use 308? planeflyer21
Most modern barrels will handle .308 Win. even if stamped 7.62x51.The issue is primarily with older first generation surplus 7.62x51 rifles, whose actions can not handle repeated higher pressures of .308 Win. 98Z5V
I used an 8" 300BLK barrel from Ares on the short 300BLK. Good barrel.

Malig8r
^^^ You know, for a 16 inch 7.62x51 4150 CMV barrel delivered to my door for $108.00; I had to purchase it!
GreyGoose
I want to buy it soooo bad, but was set on an 18", what to do what to do...?
Malig8r
I want to buy it soooo bad, but was set on an 18", what to do what to do...? Have you checked out the website? The 18" barrel is only $99, then take 20% off of that. I almost bought that as well but I've spent more than a little bit this weekend. Malig8r
Just double checked, looks like those 18" 308 barrels are no longer listed as available.
GreyGoose
Ya I didn't see them... I think I will have to hold out for the X-Caliber.They are not bad tho actually, their prices are going up but I think they are still in the introductory rates, I have two and about to buy a third, and the are in the low-mid $200's.Awesome quality barrels!Rob should call them, I bet Dustin just might become a sponsor, he was actually on the same precision rifle podcast Rob was. They're good guys, decades of experience, small company with great service. That's just more ammo of a different type I'd have to purchase...lol

All you really need is a set of 300BLK dies, and some powder. Voila! 300BLK ammo!I've got an extensive list of steps on converting 5.56 brass to 300BLK brass somewhere in this place...
