KeithB Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 i bought a cheap alum block, bad move. 20'" Mega barrel. What have yall used? I prefer clamp type.looking at JP adjustable (like the 4 clamping screws) or SLR rifleworks adjustable
survivalshop Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 I like the Steel clamp on's myself , but have Aluminum ones that seem to work fine also . That JP adj. with the four screws looks massive , not a bad thing in some ways .I use so many different ones , its hard to say which I like the best , but one made of steel would be my first choice . I really don't care for Adj. ones ,but I can see a use for them in some circumstances .
KeithB Posted January 17, 2016 Author Report Posted January 17, 2016 alum probably ok, but i bought a $10 one , it leaks really bad where it mates to the barrel causing short cycling. I have double checked everything else has to me my problem
EngrBob Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 I have the JP Adjustable .750 on my .308 build (Faxon 18" Mid Length) and it has worked perfectly. I can recommend it as being an excellent product.

The JP is made of Aluminum , but not for $ 10.?
KeithB Posted January 17, 2016 Author Report Posted January 17, 2016 anyone used a SLR rifleworks adjustable?
Robocop1051 Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 With an .875" barrel, I was limited in my options. I have a DPMS steel set screw version. If the rest of your rifle is squared away, there won't be any difference between a $35 steel LP/GB and a $100 Adj GB.
jrtMA Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) I had a PWS and went with a JP adjustable. I was still playing around with it (fine tuning) when it got pretty damn cold where I am. I've been thoroughly impressed at the fit, finish, and how they have engineered the adjustable component(s). I had a few light strikes that I was experiencing and am still trying to figure if it was the ammo or the block needing further adjustment. I think it was the ammo due to the inconsistencies.
