washguy
I bought a brand new 4" blued Python for $350 back in 1980 when I joined the local PD. I ordered it from a dealer in Shotgun News and my Lt. took delivery of it and did the transfer. He had a small firearms business that he ran out of his home. I let it get away from me several years later and a local farmer who's a gun nut ended up with it. He knows it was my duty weapon but won't turn loose of it. Now I probably couldn't afford to pay what it's worth anyway, he knows what they are selling for. I do have a 6" blued Python in the gun safe though, sitting right next to a 6" stainless Anaconda!392... well damn...I found my receipt for the Python from 1980....crap I overpaid...the receipt sez 399.00.... sumbitches hosed me Wash
HoytFlinger
I'm ready to order my trigger now. What do you all recommend? The main purpose of the rifle is steel and hunting. I am going to limit this rifle to around 650 yds for steel. I'm thinking more on the lines of a single stage. I don't want more than 4 lbs. My budget is between $250 and $275. HoytFlinger
I have seen quite a few people say they like the Wilson much better than a Geissele. No experience with either, but that's what I have read on other forums.I sent them a question last week from work and Vance called me, I think it was Vance. I am a Contracting Officer for the government so he might've thought my inquiry was about business, but even if not, he was very responsive.I just don't want to buy one because of a good price deal and be sorry. I kinda subscribe to the buy once cry once theory, but I've seen others on here including you that like them and that is reassuring.

I was stationed at Bragg then. By the middle of the month GI's needed money bad and I got em for a steal! It was either me or the pawn shop, and tried to get them before they ended up there! HoytFlinger
I bought the Geissele Hi Speed DMR. Botach had them on sale for $239 and free shipping. I know it isn't single stage, but I thought back on how I loved the 2 stage trigger on the Sako TRG 42 I had a couple years ago. Now if my brake would ever get off back order I'll be set with only scope remaining to be purchased.
82HALO
No, sold them back in the 90's when a friend and I decided to open a gun shop! Also sold 2 complete Dan Wesson pistol packs from the 70's in pristine condition!

HoytFlinger
Thank you. I did 10 years in the Air Force and those 10 years really changed my life. I wouldn't be where I am today hadn't it been for the military. I didn't care for the three deployments I went on, but the one I have great memories of is the Iraq one when I deployed in support of the BRO. Those Army cats really ain't that bad...lol. 82HALO
Thanks unforgiven. Hoyt you guys were great, always got us right over insertion point! Most did think we were a little nuts for jumping out of those planes!

HoytFlinger
I might have a little setback on my hands. My Syrac adjustable doesn't seem to be operating correctly. It is supposed to have audible firm clicks and mine does not. It turns way too easy and it is difficult to just get a single click. It wants to turn 2 or 3 with very little effort. I sent them an email to see if it may be bad. This is just my luck so I expected a setback or two. Oh well, trigger isnt here yet anyway. Should be midweek though. HoytFlinger
Gas block wasn't bad. Completely stupid mistake I made installing it. All good now.
HoytFlinger
Well if it ain't one thing it's another. Got the trigger installed a little while ago, but my Elf push button safety won't work with it. Damn the bad luck. Still have some more adjustments to do on the trigger to get it to break like I want it to.

HoytFlinger
Whats an ELF push button safety ? Photo's http://www.elftmanntactical.com/store/product/ambidextrous-speed-safety/I'm at work or I would post actual photos. I wanted this because I have never been a fan of the ar style safety. the tail of my trigger is long and it hits the cross bar of the safety. If it was flattened on one side like a normal safety it would work probably. Bummer.
HoytFlinger
My Tac Ops Sniper charging handle showed up today. Sweet piece!
HoytFlinger
Well my string of bad luck continues. My brake came today and it won't align with the crushwasher. I sanded on the washer until my arms gave out and it only moved maybe 3 degrees. Looks like it I have to get some peel washers.
survivalshop
Get a set of Barrel vice Blocks or make your own , to clamp the Barrel into & tighten & loosen the Muzzle Device till its where you want it . The Crush washer will only compress, so far or you can order a set of shim's , to index your Muzzle device & use some rock set or Loctite to attach it . Barrel clamping is the safest way to install or remove Muzzle devices .
HoytFlinger
I could crush it flat and it still probably wouldn't line up. Going to have to get some shims I guess. The top ports (Cooley brake) are at about the 2 o'clock position. Long ways off.
