WA whitetail hunter
ar10 rifles are completely different shaped than bolt action rifles so my preferred sling doesn't translate well to my ar10, so my question is any one have an opinion on a good sling to use on an ar10 for big game hunting in the mountains? I have a dpms GII hunter if that matters
shepp
Check out beachin tactical in the sponsor area, he makes a real nice product and he's been a great member. I won one of his slings in a raffle and I now own 4 of them lol
WA whitetail hunter
I checked them out a while back was considering one for my ar15. How are they for carrying a long distance? Do they stay on the shoulder when you have a pack on or do they slip a bit like most slings do?
Robocop1051
I have one on my AR, my 12 gauge and my AK. They carry great, but we're not designed to be carried slung over one shoulder. It was designed to carry the rifle across the body, muzzle down.
WA whitetail hunter
I might just have to order one up and give it a try

But it's softer in the shoulders than the magpul single point
survivalshop
I use Beachin's slings hunting in Ohio , both with a SlugGun & a 45-70 & the work great . I carrie both slug across the body ( Muzzle up , on my back ) & on the Shoulder & they stay as good as any other sling I have & just as comfortable . Could this maybe supposed to read: I carry both slung across the body ( Muzzle up , on my back ) & on the Shoulder? I use a Beachin' sling and it works well for me on my mini 14 with an original Ruger wood stock or a pre banChoate folding stock. I haven't needed to carry the DPMS LR 308 slung yet, but will. 392heminut
I've got 4 Beachin slings, the most recent one went on my Matrix 308 build. That rifle will be used for hunting in the mountains here in New Mexico and I have no doubt the sling will be good to go.
