Buffer question

My buffer from my 308 rattles when shaken (out of gun, in hand).  Is that normal for the buffers' internal weights to rattle?

Info for buffer:  APF factory,  and don't know what weight.

I will be weighing it today, so I will be in a better position to know which one I can replace it with.

Bubba, Is your current buffer causing problems? Or are you like me, just wanting the best one available?

Either way I reckon we are having fun and also are we trying to forget what a mess our country that so many good souls fought and shed blood for has become?

Seriously,  if there is the kind of recoil reduction claimed from a heavy buffer,  then I want in....controlability is where it's at for me!

I noticed a difference when I installed a heavy buffer from Slash.

Does it even sound correct to have a 5.4 oz buffer in a 308?  Rifle length gas system; rifle buttstock tube for info.

 

That is what is in mine, and gives 100% function.....
