santadee
I read some reviews and had a DD M4v9 LW and really like the slim rail. Found the DD5V1 nearby and decided to buy it and see how it compared with my Armalites. So far, it is lighter and easier to handle. The recoil of a 168gr is not bad as what one would think with a light weight rifle. Anyone else buy one of these yet? Cheers,

santadee
Count on it. May get to the range today. Pics are the easy part. Weight, with no ammo/scope/Dueck Defense RTS Sights/sling/etc, the website says 8.3 lbs. It is light, much lighter than my AR10 ( has 16" SS though). shepp
Idk how I feel about the upper and hand guard mount, It's kind funky. Is that a stock QD mount on the back of the lower below the buffer tube? That's cool!

santadee
Stripped down the DD and my Armalite - both have 16" barrels. Overall length goes to the Armalite. Weight for the DD is 9.2 lb. Weight for Armalite is 10.4 lbs ( both include BUIS, and rail panel protection, and each have a handstops) The biggest noteworthy change is the overall diameter of the hand guard diameter. The DD is 6.125" vs the Armalite (Larue Tactical 9.0) is 8.125". With my medium to small hands, the Daniel Defense Slim rail, creates a superior left hand grip for me,
