98Z5V
I knew this title would draw Shepp... Give a shout-out, brother! You gotta know this place! It's in the vid, about the 3:00 mark - but don't skip! This is a badass car...
shepp
Haha never heard of that chassis guy, but also everyone I know isn’t running that much power or if they have chassis build it’s for turning in circles. Drag strip looks like Great Lakes over by Racine, I got beef with that place like I hope it burns down beef. I got hit and run buy a drag car there once. Miraculously no one saw nothing..... We also just about got in a fight with the owners for the Harley’s 105th Edited September 11, 2018 by shepp
shepp
King of the streets is pretty huge over there tho. This is my favorite place Byron dragway, that smoke in the upper right is steam from the nuke plant. The former own of Great Lakes (Broadway bob) and Byron (Ron leek) used to go to California in the 60’s and recruit racers to come to their tracks and a few others in the Midwest and race. Bob passed away 8-9 years ago, Ron is still with us. Ron would announce the call the races at the track and when the stunt guys would go out I would go comentate with him. We would chat off mic, and he would tell stories. I would love to sit down with him and just listen to his stories of drag racing over the years, specially the early days. 392heminut
Sonofabitch I love dragracing! Just brute power, get it off the line and try and get it to the end of the track! The faster they are, the harder it is to do. One of the best passes I ever saw was John Force at the Nationals in Phoenix years ago making a pass against Del Worsham. Fukker had to backpedal that car 6 or 7 times to get to the end of the track and was weaving all over but he won! If any of you ever get the chance to go watch nostalgia Fuel Altereds race (not that late model funny car chassis crap) DO IT! You will never see any wilder, seat of the pants racing than that schit! There's a reason NHRA did away with them as a competition class.
edgecrusher
I’m at the track several times a year. It’s easy to appreciate some of the fine craftsmanship you see at the track.

shepp
Luckily one of the places the stunt group preformed were drag strips. I’ve got to see some real cool shit, I had a media pass for a big event in Cordova Illinois and stood less than 20’ from Tony pedregon making a pass at the start line that raw power m passed thru every inch of my body it rattled my soul I’ve never felt anything like it. The other event I always loved was the world wheel stand comp in Byron IL I know I’ve talked about it many many times, but there’s somthing about watching a guy stand xx,xxx amounts of money on its bumper and drag that fucker 1/8 mile plus it’s so awesome. Few years prior I watched the pink car barrel roll down the track 7-8 times and I got it all on video

Was that when he sent the connecting rod thru the oil pan? No wait I think that was 11 or 12, it’s in one of the first videos
98Z5V
I'll look again for that video I saw, but in '15, he half-tracked that thing and won. That was impressive! Another view: This is the one that shows the full-meal deal, right here, including the winner's circle... shepp
It’s always a great event, tons of racing because it’s the end of the year so all the guys are going balls out, then they throw in the wheel stand.
