AzRon Posted March 1, 2020 Report Posted March 1, 2020 Now that DPMS is out of business are the Patents null and void or do they go until they expire? The reason I ask is could someone start making GenII compatible parts? Adams Arms has a few things as I believe they had an agreement before DPMS closed down and supposedly F4 Arms also has compatible uppers and maybe parts? A source of GenII compatible parts would give me a piece of mind for the future. Starting over with another brand is a non starter so,,,,,
Cunuckgaucho Posted March 1, 2020 Report Posted March 1, 2020 Didn't Remington buy DPMS so even though DPMS brand isn't being manufactured everything is stilled owned by Remington? That being said who's to say any and all GenII parts are patent protected? I'm guessing if there is a demand Remington has the tooling so might make parts or a small manufacture might make arrangements to fill the void.

From what I have read and there is conflicting info on proprietary parts and who was allowed to produce them. I don't think that Remingtons ARs come close to GenII specs not do they care.
