Dave bought a CMMG 6arc w/3 mags in fde for less than 1k. So he is not building.

Brownells has 6 Arc in 18" and 20" complete upper

Threw an old tasco 3x9 on it and went out back. I have only found 40 rounds so far. I shot 10 of them today. It goes boom everytime. Got it sighted in @50yds so far. Need to find more ammo and decide on an optic.

Read somewhere - I'll try to find it, source it, and link it - that this ARC is pretty fucked up for breakin.  It keeps speeding up for about 200 rounds, and then it settles out after that.  It was a military article about it (rare), and I can't find the damn thing.  I'll look for it, and post it up when I find it.

Long story short - get a few hundred round through the ARC, before you settle on a load, or a velocity, or anything else.

I can believe that. It took a couple hundred rounds for my Grendel rifle to settle down.

Now if I con find ammo that I can afford. I found some @$3.00 a shot. Not going there yet. I am saving my brass.

To this day, brother, I've only found 360 rounds of loaded Hornady Match 108gr ammo - and nothing else.  When it's all said and done ,I only have 360 once-fired cases to work with...

 

But I made a contact today, at the gun shop.  The guy that runs San Tan Tactical just moved here, and he's got 2,500 spent rounds... All provided by Hornady, and all Match brass...    

Details coming.  You get a cut of this, since you manned up early on a 6 ARC...   Plus, I think you're sexy...

Got my parts yesterday for my 6mm arc build. Still need upper and lower receiver, gas block. handguard, stock, trigger, and pistol grip. The last 3 will be purchased soon from Larue Tactical. Other stuff either have to decide what I want or hope I can find it in stock

What are you guys using for magazines for the 6mm arc? I just have a bunch of pmags for 5.56 that I have used for 300 blk just fine but don’t know how they do with 6.5 grendel/6mm arc.

 

want to know since I am purchasing some more parts tonight for my build.

5.56 mags and 300BLK mags are never gonna work.

^^^  What he said.  You need Grendel mags.  For 17-rd mags, I use E-Lander mags, and either get them from Alexander Arms, or Primary Arms (when PA has them).  LaRue Tactical sells them, too, but you can never see LaRue's live inventory.  For 25-rd mags, I use the ASC mags.  The ones with the blue followers. I always get them from PA.

Ok, I was looking at the ASC mags for $15 from a few different places. Just have to talk my wife into getting 5 or 7 mags. Lol.

Magazine Wearhouse has ASC for about $15.00 . I just ordered 5 more in FDE. Same price as the black ones. I also have several 10 rnd ASC mags. Ky won't let you hunt w/mags that hold more than 10. I also have some C Products Grendel mags that work fine.
