Anyone have any experience with Grange?  Had some friends just start one up locally. All I’ve ever know was 4H and FFA. These folks were extremely committed, but apparently 4H went political and started pushing things like BLM and Defund the Police. They’d had enough and started up a Grange chapter. Supposedly it’s been around longer than anything, but I haven’t got to look too deep. Considering signing up the oldest now that we have the room for some livestock. Just curious if Grange is a thing around the country and how much in the dark I’ve been not knowing about it.

It was a thing back in Ohio, when I was a kid.  So it's been around THAT long.  We're talking kid = 70s into early 80s, for "kid."

One of my daughter in laws is a FFA teacher, I can find out if she knows any differences between grange and FFA.

What was said about 4H doesn't surprise me...I think they were always a bit more left of center than FFA anyways.  The local chapters that I have seen while my oldest son was in there (hence the daughter in law connection), they seemed either non political or reasonably conservative in nature.

Here in CA 4-H is essentially run by the universities…hence left of left.  FFA is run individually by the high schools and tending to be run by the more conservative types…they often have many battles to fight within their districts.

I think we’re going to check out a meeting next month and I might sign up the oldest with Grange.
