So my Gibbz G10 upper came in earlier this week. At like $300 plus fees should I get the matched lower? I have a G4 with a poverty pony lower and it works great. I understand that the larger platform is more picky...

Thanks

Is that the side-charger?   Search "Gibbz" here, because we've seen 3 Gibbz side-chargers, and they all had issues...   I'm just sayin'...

At least he won't have to hear about the lower being the problem as he winds his way through their customer service.

This guy is #4, so let's see how this one goes.  Going with their lower is about the only option here...   based on previous reports here...

With their lower, if it's gas port shiit or gas tube, recoil system junk - we can fix that.  If it's still just a fucked up design, there's nothing we, here, can do about that.  With their lower, we can get it to the operational point where it SHOULD work, and he can point that back at the company, on the design.

As stated, match the lower. Put a proper recoil system, make sure you have a barrel with a proper sized gas port (plenty on that here in other threads) and make sure you have a gas tube that winds up in the proper location…you’ll have very few reasons it can’t run.

Appreciate the feedback. I did see others have issues. There is a good gunsmith in town that has an indoor range. They also are well known for their bolt gun builds. I was planning on them cerakote it. Maybe I will have them put it together... I rather not or maybe they can atleast check the specs.

I am confident that they could get it running at a worst case.

There's alot of no-kidding Gunsmiths that have their own shops, that don't know shiit about Large Frame ARs, and all the differences.  Not joking you on that.  Don't put your money in that basket, just because they can build bolt guns.  Were not talking the differences between Apples and Oranges, when comparing bolt guns to Large Frame ARs.  We're talking about the difference between Apples and Hammers.

See what they know - ask them if they know the operational differences between DPMS LR-308 based guns, compared to what's different in the Armalite AR-10 based guns.  If they look at you like a dog looking at an airplane - don't have them build your gun.  They don't know enough.  No matter how many bolt guns they build.
