I took my Thunderbeast suppressor off of my 300 blackout rifle and wanted to try it on my DPMS Panther.  It is a full length bull barrel rifle and when I use the can on it, it wants to stovepipe the new round going in or even catch the empty on occasion.   Model LR-308.   Do you know if the buffer needs to be changed out for suppressed shooting?  It has worked flawlessly before with the standard muzzle brake on it.

It's going too fast with the suppressor on it - it's overgassed when that can is on that gun.  You need more buffer weight in there to slow that thing down, or you need an adjustable gas block to cut that gas back - only when the suppressor is on there.

That's exactly what is going on.

Most suppressors increase backpressure.  Magazines and the interwebz call it "Suppressor Boost."
