KAK Heavy Short Buffer

Searched the threads and didn't find anything, so, has anyone used the KAK Heavy Short Buffer in the 308ARs?  If so, what are your thoughts / experiences?

I used them in my last 2 (did 2 at the same time) builds.
They definitely work, but they are actually 5.1 ounces, not 5.3 as advertised.
The one from heavybuffers is 5.5 ounces.
I wonder how much difference there is with .4 ounces.  I wish I would have had both to compare at the time.

Thank you. I currently have a 3.8 oz with SprinCo Orange and was considering if the investment would be worth it.

I have one. To be honest, the gun behaves  the same with a KAK+Springco orange as it does with a standard DPMS buffer and spring. I was swapping them back and forth and I honestly didn't notice a difference. Brass pretty much ejected to the same spot.  Recoil impulse felt the same. I think I ended up keeping the KAK/orange in the gun just because it's "better" and I already paid for it, but it wasn't a necessary upgrade at all. If your gun is running, I'd say don't waste the money. If your gun ISNT running, I'd say the buffer probably isn't the fix you are looking for. 

This was on a 16" carbine with a nasty comp on it. YMMV.

Your 3.8 oz buffer is too light for a .308. It should be a minimum of 5.3. It may be considered heavy for an AR 15 but on a 308AR it’s standard weight. A heavy buffer for .308 is typically 6.5/8/10 oz.

Lots of comments on that KAK buffer here, and it's a common recommendation for Carbine extensions that are 7.000" internal depth, and coupled with the Sprinco Orange spring.  It's good to go.

Well, after some research, decided to try the Spikes as it is listed a little heavier.

Went to the range today. The PA-10, Sprinco Orange, and Spikes Tactical ST-X1 make for a smooth shooting rifle.
