What da he'll? Brass is this.

Been doing some moving and sorting of brass and came about 6 cases that had been inadvertently put in my range brass.  It's berdan gased so not for my reloading bench but there is a weird hitch? Who would do this?  

There is a Grove (stamped)  cut into the base of the case around the primer. Not sure what this is but seems like re manned brass to deform the logo I'd on the case, also has  sm 308 win printed on the wall?

They sued themselves over selling arms, went through a cut-out but they still got hammered, removing headstamps was supposed to help with deniability, judging how fast it was ID'd here it wasn't a successful program.
