It'll simplify placing the shot for him and with the right sight in distance should result in point blank range out to 100 yards or close to it. Even if there are 3 ranges for proper bullet placement (close, mid, far) it'll still simplify things. But I don't think that'll be the case. When he gets his deer be sure to talk it up here to let us know. I was just on the BA site and saw that the 10.3" Hansen barrel is on sale for almost 1/2 price. But they can list them as free since they were out of stock. 🙂 I have been looking a lot, and while I know the benefits of barrel length and velocity, I think I am going to go with the faxon 7,5” that has the 1:5 twist as soon as I can find it in stock. Gotta be something behind the short barrels with fast twist considering all of Q’s 300blk guns have 7 or 8 inch barrels and all have the 1:5 twist. If I am not happy with it as a short range hunting rifle, will always be a good home defense rifle with suppressor and subs. 😁 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Keep an eye on the ejector and pathway, I had one gall up and jam inside, the NiB had flaked at the edges, must have been 5-600 rounds into its life.
