Sisco Posted February 27, 2023 Report Posted February 27, 2023 I have removed at least 8,000 military crimps of 7.62x51, 5.56x45, 45 ACP, 9 mm, and 30 cal US.(30-06). Did them all with a hand reamer or a drill reamer. It isn’t rocket science.
MikedaddyH Posted February 27, 2023 Author Report Posted February 27, 2023 I have done them by hand, press and the SS 600. Just thought this might help others.
BrianK Posted February 27, 2023 Report Posted February 27, 2023 I tried reaming them many years ago and got some primer pockets that turned out oversize. I have no idea how that happened but it must have been me. That prompted me to get the Dillon tool. That was decades ago. The thing paid for itself LONG ago. And despite mine being all manually operated it's very fast!

98Z5V Posted February 28, 2023 Report Posted February 28, 2023 Lyman Case Prep Multi-Tool. Too easy. Use the VLD Inner chamfer tool, 3 turns, any crimp is gone. I have the RCBS Primer Pocket Swager 2, the press-mounted version. Works great. Too slow to use, though, if you're running bulk brass. Keep in mind - you only have to do this to brass once. After that, it's good until you split a neck or get a case head separation.
