I don't work on large enough (which goes to the ma chineshop anyhow) stuff to warrant an actual drill press, but I do need one on occasion for small projects (like holes for rails on various weapons).

Dremels are like the best thing since sliced bread:

I have that exact same set-up. Owned it for years, and still haven't used it. It has become a mini coat rack for random desk items.

I do, however, use my dremmel like it's 8 year old in a 3rd world Nike factory.

I posted it near the vice so I can handle any angle I need. :)

LOL. That's an interesting way to protect a receiver in a vice.

Well I do plan on getting some leather covers - but I had to use what was nearby.

In this case a sponge slash scotch bright pad. So I cut it in half and there you have it. Worked perfectly. I mean really - has me considering why I want to waste the money on leather now.  <laughs>

I have a huge slab of thick leather you're free to. It's covered in rat urine and droppings and has been sitting in a wood pile for over a month now but can probably be cleaned up. I can get it cleaned up to some degree before shipping. Someone gave it to me in exchange for knife service. I used it mainly for making leather pallets out of until a relative of mine got a hold of it and left it in the worst possible place. It's still useable though. If I weren't a germ-a-phoebe I would still be using it.
