Rsquared Posted July 23, 2024 Report Posted July 23, 2024 (edited) Supposedly, these guys have one of the last of the few F4 Phantoms inside the US that's potentially airworthy when restored. They're trying to get her airworthy again, and they're getting pretty close. There's just something about this cold-war design of a warbird. She's sleek and super SEXY. Jeff300 Posted July 23, 2024 Report Posted July 23, 2024 BIL was in air guard out of Fairchild Airforce Base years back, went to a few air shows there, those shows will be lasting memories. 👍
unforgiven Posted July 23, 2024 Report Posted July 23, 2024 This was also a cool place. Had the privilege of having a retired Air Force Colonel National Museum of the US Air Force (937) 255-3286 https://g.co/kgs/vut7oRs
Sisco Posted July 27, 2024 Report Posted July 27, 2024 My father was an engineer for McDonnell Aircraft back in the day. Worked on the F-101 and was working on the prototype of the F-4 when he got hired away by Honeywell Ordnance. Later went to FMC and worked on the Bradley. Could never talk about that stuff at the time. After the Soviet Union’s fall he had a ton of stories to tell.
