I recently built a long range sniper rifle but it was very heavy.  not too heavy for sniping but definately too heavy for CQB.  so i started a new project.  not going for the lightest build ever just something more manueverable and light enough for CQB.

Got the afg1 back from getting coated. here is the deal.....i got this grip in FDE instead of black due to the boxes being marked wrong. instead of bitching about getting a lemon i made lemonade. there's a place i found A Breon Custom. let me tell you what. so glad the company sent me the wrong one. these guys are AWESOME. finish was amazing like factory but better. they do custom decals and colors on stock, hand guards, pistol grips, for grips, and mags. check them out you don't be disappointed. watch the durability test i have posted

I like that link brother archangel 8),let me know how that dynacomp works for you.Lookin for a comp for my Lar-8.Battle comp for 5.56 is great I see there is one for 7.62,but that dynacomp has got my eye ;)

Updated again 6-7-12

I decided to pick up my receiver early and get a jump on the install process.  got everything on minus the bolt catch.  it takes a screw i forgot to order

so its ordered, along with an extra firing pin and extended mag release.  here are some pics of the 99% complete rifle.  all i need now is an

optic and i am set.

good looking carbine, I especially like that Magpul hand guard. Thats 16" rifle length gas system, yes?

its actually a carbine gas system.  i cut down the front post sight off the gas block.  powdercoated it black and reused it as a "low profile gas block".  i had the other front gas block extra in my parts bin so i wanted something different and i love the way it looks.  its a 16" barrel

last part came today.  its complete minus an optic.  new dpms chrome bcg. mmmmmmm <munch>
