yes no battery operated sighting devices in hunting big game with a rifle and in archery , hey i can and have lived with it over 35 years no biggy to me... so i am looking at a acog... yikes them sucker is spendy

Yeah.............but they be nice. Also, unless your dealer has them on his shelf, get ready to wait. I ordered a  TA11E from my guy back in September. Still waiting. Could probably find it on the internet somewhere, but I'm kinda loyal to my local guy. He gives me good deals.....and I give him a little patience.

Ok bit the bullet and bought a 512 got it today got it mounted not just need to sight it in any advice? on use what to do not to do etc?

Yep, what he said. Zero it on the iron sights that are there right now, then shoot it in on it's own, for it's own zero.  Should go pretty quick, that way.  <thumbsup>

Start close, like 25 yards, then increase to 50, then 100 (if you're going that far out on the zero).

Thanks it was almost there from the get go co witness with my A2 front sight just a couple of clicks left and 1 down drives tacks at 50..... I like it
