I used to have a 70 back in the late 80s, 383, 4 speed with the ridiculous pistol grip, posi rear, I think it was N20 tires on the back? I know it was N series. Burnt orange metallic inside + interior too, black vinyl roof. Miss that car.

gs, good old FIrebird Raceway.  Next time you're heading up there, let me know - I'd love to show up and watch you run that beast.  <thumbsup>

Better make this quick ! Firebird is CLOSING this year ! The last BIG event is this month.

I like Speedworld much better...Very bias opinion. I know the management there.

Firebird is great to watch events there but I only made one pass and they RED flagged my car for safety violations... Tranny blanket, Drive shaft loop, Helmet and a rollcage.

No I didn't... There was a traction issue... 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 2nd - 3rd ...Spun the tires for a 1000ft.

Ran an 11.10 @ 140mph  this was back in 1985.

I'm sorry to disappoint, but unfortunately both Speedworld and Firebird have closed (Firebird's last race is this weekend).  There are rumors that Firebird will reopen under a new name and management, but thus far those are just rumors.  Speedworld is done for the foreseeable future.  The closest track is now SIR in Tuscon followed by Las Vegas.

I loved when they held the NHRA Winternationals at the Tucson Dragway...then the owner got busted for drugs.  Then the county closed it.

They're great at ruining stuff here.

I took the LR308AP4 and wife with  her Savage 22 out yesterday and shot for several hours. The LR does not like the DPMS magazine but the MAGPUL works fine. It was the first time out with the new muzzle compensator. Works the felt kick was less than before.

OBTW the wife shoots that 22 like a pro and even enjoys shooting. She is ok with Her 9m but if she ever hits me with that 22 and I find out I'm gonna be mad.

Ok we are back on the gun track :auto:
