survivalshop
I ordered a Horton crossbow the other day & plan on hunting with it in Ohio this year. Been a long while since I bow hunted with any kind of bow. I have some plans to compare this & others , with my Chronograph . I will have a week to bow hunt before gun week this year. planeflyer21
I used to want a crossbow bad but it seems the new compound bows' performance have closed the advantage gap considerably. Looking forward to the chrono information! Jon
survivalshop
I just got the Horton cocking rope set up & its like a different crossbow to pull back now , almost like pulling back nothing. Not handy caped yet, you can hunt in Ohio with Bow or Crossbow the full archery season. I also have the new VooDoo bolts coming to try out next to std bolts . This is going to be interesting. I can't wait to bow hunt again . I used a compound bow for over twenty years to hunt .
BLKSHEEP
I've taken a few animals with a compound ,it's a rush that you just can't get with a gun. I've got the fever for a new bow but damn they're expensive now!
survivalshop
Ya, I hear you , I just paid $ 10 a piece for those hot shot crossbow bolts . I still have to pick out a broad head .

george_995
I have an older Barnett crossbow w/ 150lb draw weight. Thing is really fun to shoot in the yard and in general. I use cheapo wal-mart bolts ($5) and they group good when I do my part, usually shoot at 20yds. I had a fixed power pronghorn 3x scope by tasco on it, the rings/mount plate were cheap crap and would loosen no matter what. So I took the scope off and now shoot off the bolt(old school style). Crossbows are cool and intriguing, eventually I want a modern rig by Tenpoint's line of cross bows. http://www.toolking.com/tenpoint-crossbow-technologies-c08066-3422-gt-flex-pkg-with-acudraw http://www.toolking.com/wicked-ridge-wr1221-6336-raider-cls-w-premium-pkg-w-acu
