BRD51
I saw a good deal on PMC .308 ammo in 147grains. Is this brass ok to reload for an AR? Also, what brass should I definitely stay away from when reloading?

texas30cal
I know PMC .223 brass is good to go.
planeflyer21
I wouldn't reload that Brazilian CBC brass. Even though my rifle cycles the ammo, the rims are torn by the extractor on all of them.
FaRKle!
I wouldn't reload that Brazilian CBC brass. Even though my rifle cycles the ammo, the rims are torn by the extractor on all of them. My CBC brass doesn't get torn up by my extractor. I still wouldn't buy their M80 though since a lot of rounds have had popped primers after firing... (their 168gr "sniper" ammo has been reliable though). Edited September 27, 2013 by FaRKle! That sucks to hear as I have 100rds of it I planned to burn up this weekend. Do you happen to have a lot number?

Sorry, no lot number. The boxes came all torn up so I just tossed the rounds into my ammo can and threw away the boxes. The rounds were made in 2012 though. Definately the worst I've come across. Wifey doesn't understand we need a bolt-action to shoot it up.

IowaFClass
I have one bolt gun I use for F/TR comp. but don't use AR brass for that one. I have never used the PMC or Brazilian ammo so can't really comment on good or bad to reload. For the bolt I went the most expensive brass but I am on my 5th reload on the first 100 pieces, so in a way the cost is coming down. One of the other competitors is on his 12th reload of the same brass. So the cheap way is not always the best route. For my ARs I have always picked up Lake City once fired and seems to be a good choice so far.
pewpew.308
PMC is just fine for plinking, I have had no issues with it. Obviously I would avoid anything with a Berdan primer, even though you can convert Berdan brass to Boxer why would you? Boxer is too prevalent at this moment.
