Well went out for a little testing today. First time testing out 44 spl in my SBH and man i must say it was a pleasure to shoot. But the fun was with the 308.

Tested 2.820 and 2.830. First up was .830 and it shot eh. Bout the same as .800. Let the rifle cool back down for half hr and went on to .820. First target really shows what happens as the barrel warmed up.

And a 10 round after warm resulted in this.

Alright smart ass. I was trying to leave a little wiggle room with the 3.750 I threw out at you.

Here's the mag. And a factory Hornady 285 gr BTHP.

What powder is "H4835"? Is this some new, super secret formulation? Let us in on it! Or as most of us here did you score a 450 on the English part of the SATs? ::)

i had messes up and put 4831 first and tried to change to 4895.

The lead sled kinda takes all the fun out of printing good groups <dontknow>

Sure shows what the rifle & ammo is capable of, though.

Thats the point of load development. To make the best load for a gun and anything after that is shooter. The sled is only used for testing. Removing shooter reduces variables. All groups outside of development are on the shooter Edited by bubbasks
