survivalshop
Good price , that means someone has to buy one , fit it & test fire it & let us know or does some one have one tested ? I plan on using a 18.5, but may change my mind if this barrel has good reviews .
392heminut
I would like to pick one up for a future build but it's just not in the budget. :'(
Powerman
So how are 16" 308s? I assume a flash suppressor would be a must? Is 16" about as short as you want to go for aSBR 308?
gnatshooter
My .308 is a 16" and the flash is enormous. A flash suppressor is "a must" only if you don't like the flash.
planeflyer21
I can't say about the muzzle flash on the .308s but should give it a try. On both the Mini14s and the AK Tom and I were shooting in .223, the flash was about 18" wide and 30" long, in a reverse tear drop…big end near the muzzle. bubbasks
Flash is fun lol. My 16"sks blows flames quite well
Powerman
Right... what was I thinking? I think I need one. :)) :auto: Edited January 4, 2014 by Powerman
survivalshop
The flash from my 16" was impressive & very loud . I put a VLtor flash/muzzle brake on it & the shooters next to me quit asking what kind of cannon I was shooting. I have a rifle length gas system & I think that may make a difference. As far as how short for an SBR , well thats up to you & your barrel maker. I know some have 14" on ,but not sure how they shoot or perform , you have to remember there are trade offs for having a short barrel . Rsquared
I've got a 12.5" (Noveske barrel) on my AR10 SBR. It runs fine....even with the suppressor. She's not as "loud" as you would think she would be (running an AAC brakeout comp). As far as accuracy, she'll drill the center of a target. Now keep in mind, that I'm not looking for any kind of MOA with her. She's made for kicking in doors or shooting through them......not sniping. Just recently, while playing at 50 yards. She ate the s h i t out of the center of the target. Same at 100. Still, not one hole or cloverleaf type of accuracy. BUT, if it was human.......it wouldn't be anymore.
